EARNESTLY CONTENDING FOR THE FAITH:
THE KING JAMES BIBLE:
YEA, HATH GOD SAID?
THE BATTLE FOR THE BIBLE

THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS
GOD MANIFEST IN THE FLESH.
THAT IS WHY HE IS GOD

Do you know for a fact that if you were to
die today that you would not go to hell?
If you do not know, click here.

Do you know what the first question in the Bible was?  Do you know what the first sin in the Bible was?

Genesis 2:16-17:
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:  17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Genesis 3:1-3:
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?  2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

The first question in the Bible was: “Yea, hath God said...?”  The first sin recorded in the Bible was that of Satan when he caused Eve to question the authority and the truth of the very words of God.  Does that sound like the modernist textual critic and Bible correcting scholar?  The first error of mankind was recorded in the Bible when Eve misquoted the very words of God by adding to them and changing them.  The first thing Satan taught mankind was to lie.  The next thing Satan taught mankind was to sacrifice the very words of God on the altar of Satanic knowledge.  Thus, knowledge was exalted above the very words of God.  The death kneel of mankind was to glorify Satanic knowledge above God Who is the beginning of knowledge.  Knowledge was made a god. Satan’s appeal was to the opening of the eyes and “knowing”; in other words having knowledge and becoming a god among gods.  The combination of a multiplicity of gods and the exalting of man’s knowledge  is the foundation of the ancient heresy of Gnosticism that had its beginnings in the Garden of Eden.  Gnosticism and its other mutilations are the spiritual cyanide that has poisoned the textual basis, the translation process, and the translations of the modern perversions of the Bible.  Satan found his first candidate textual critic and Bible correcting scholar in the Garden of Eden when he manipulated Adam and Eve into denying the very words of God.

God must feel much like David did in Psalm 56:5 when he said: “Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil”.  God has given us a clear indication of the destiny of those who wrest His words, the Scriptures, when he said in speaking of Paul in 2 Peter 3:16:

2 Peter 3:16

As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Now, we will read some Scriptures that relate to the Word and the words of God.

Deuteronomy 4:2:
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Deuteronomy 8:3:
And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

Psalm 12:6-7: 6
The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

Psalm 119 emphasizes and exalts the words of God.  In its 176 verses we see the words: word = 38 times, words = 4 times, commandment = 1 time, commandments = 21 times, statutes 22 times, and laws = 26 times.

Psalm 119:9, 11, 89, 105, 140, 161:
9  Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. 11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. 89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.  105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.  140 Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.  161 Princes have persecuted me without a cause: but my heart standeth in awe of thy word.

Psalm 138:2:
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

Proverbs 30:5-6
5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.  6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Matthew 5:18:
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

The tittle and the jot are the smallest characters in the Hebrew alphabet.

Hebrews 4:12:
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Revelation 6:9
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

There have been millions that have been slain for the word of God down through the ages.  They are gathered here around the altar of God.

John 1:1:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Revelation 19:13:
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Here in John 1:1 is where the modern Arian heresy of the Jehovah Witnesses is prominently recorded.  The New World Translation of the Jehovah Witnesses translates the last clause of this verse as “and the word was a god”.  Note the underlined words in bold face, italicized type.  Notice the shift to lower case for the words “Word” and “God”.  Also, notice the shift in the English article from “the” to “a”.  The English article “the” is applied to a single, specific person, place or thing whereas the English article “a” is applied to one of a series or group of persons, places, or things.   This subtle and simple twist of the WORDS and capitalization (the jots and tittles, if you will) has destroyed the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ and opened the way for a plurality of gods.  What wickedness.  This is also an attack on the Trinity or the tri-unity of the Godhead.  What say we about this?  Is the Trinity a Scriptural fact?  Is the Lord Jesus Christ God?

We are going to stop here briefly to discuss one of the most amazing statements in Scripture.  The unity of God in separate persons is first attested to in Genesis 1:26-27 where we see:

Genesis 1:26-27
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Notice the three amazing phrases: “let us”; “our image”; and “our likeness”.  Notice also in Genesis 1:1-2:

Genesis 1:1-2
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

So, at the very least we see God and the Spirit of God in Genesis 1.  From the use of the plural pronouns us (still amazing to me!) and ours followed by the singular noun phrase God created we see both God the Holy Spirit and God the Father united in the singular noun phrase God created.  Add to these the Scriptures in Ephesians 3:9 which reads:

Ephesians 3:9
And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

and in Colossians 1:13-17 which reads:

Colossians 1:13-17
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:  14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Thus we see the Trinity present at the creation of the earth and all that is in it and on it.

Revelation 22:18-19 says:

Revelation 22:18-19:
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

How quickly would you change and distort the words of God?  How quickly would you question the accuracy of the Word of God.  You better be careful!

Let it be understood from the outset that if you make a stand for the King James Bible, you will be attacked; you will be mocked for hanging on to that old, archaic, Elizabethan English; you will be scorned for being less than scholarly; and you will be accused of creating division.  Frequently you will be quoted Romans 16:17, out of context, of course.  They will tell you it is hateful and ungodly to create division.  The Bible correctors’ major problem is that he has not rid himself of the rest of verse 17 and verse 18; at least, not yet, anyhow.  Wait for the “One-World Bible”.  Romans 16:17-18 says:

Romans 16:17-18
17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

They conveniently omit the phrase “contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned”.  Need I remind anyone reading these introductory notes that the “Doctrine of the Scriptures” is considered to be a cardinal doctrine for any Christian.  If a struggle for the Scriptures causes divisions and offenses, these divisions and offenses are not caused contrary to doctrine.  In fact, if we do not diligently study and teach the doctrine of the Scriptures, we are guilty of allowing the wolves to come in and attack the simple.  The simple are the innocent and unsuspecting.  In other words, they are ignorant because they lack facts.  They are not stupid.  They are just uneducated because you their shepherd or their teacher has failed to warn them that the wolves are coming.  It is not the Mormon Doctrines and Covenants, the Roman Catholic or Lutheran Catechism, any confession or articles of faith, the Anglican Thirty-Nine Articles, your church constitution, the traditions of men, your deacon, your pastor, your favorite scholar, your favorite textual critic, or your teacher that is the final authority in matters relating to doctrine.  For you, the English speaking Christian, the final authority for all matters relating to rule, faith, and practice is the 1611 King James Bible.  It is your sacred duty pastor, preacher, evangelist, teacher, father, and mother to sound the trumpet to warn those that would be deceived by the wolves.  You are their watchman that God has set (Ezekiel 33:1-9).  Be prepared to defend the King James Bible.  Study to show yourselves approved.  Be not as the watchmen of Isaiah 56:9-11 where we read:

Isaiah 56:9-11
9 All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest. 10 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.  11 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.

There has been enough mud slung in the battle for the King James Bible, the Textus Receptus, and the Hebrew Masoretic text  to build an adobe Sears Tower and an Empire State Building.  The battle for the text of the Word of God began immediately after the Living Word ascended to the right hand of the Father.  From pages 80 and 81 of Jack Moorman’s “Forever Settled” we quote:

“It may be safely said that the greatest spiritual battle that was ever fought on this planet was fought between the powers of Darkness and Light during the first two centuries after our Lord ascended back to Heaven. With the LIVING WORD returned to glory, Satan turned all of his fury upon the WRITTEN WORD.

Scrivener says, "The worst corruptions to which the NT his ever been subjected originated within a hundred years after it was composed."

The battle for the Bible began with the heretics Tatian, Clement of Alexander, Augustine of Hippo, Origen, Jerome, and Eusebius.  It has continued down through the ages up to and through the modern textual critics and scholars of today.  You can identify the modernist textual critic and scholar by  noting that his focus and immediate appeal is to the scholarship of man rather than an appeal to the logic of faith in God.  His immediate appeal is to the Greek or the Hebrew.  To him, it is not an issue of Godship, but an issue of scholarship. The Bible correcting textual critic and scholar is his own authority.  From the early 1800s until today there has been a long list of a mixture of German, English, and American rationalists, Gnostics, apostates, and heretics who have either perverted or outright denied the Word of God.  These included such men as Carl Lachmann, Frederick Constantine Tischendorf, Brooke Foss Westcott, Fenton John Anthony Hort, William Robertson Smith, Connop Thirlwall, George Vance Smith, Philip Schaff, Ezra Abbot, Joseph Henry Thayer, Kurt Aland, Carlo Maria Martini, Eugene Nida, Bruce M. Metzger, etc.

Tragically, the majority of fundamentalist Bible-believers have fallen for the deception of scholarolatry by rejecting the King James Bible.  The proliferation of modern English language versions since 1881 has been both the perpetrator and indicator of an almost universal apostasy in the churches of English speaking peoples.  Everyday we hear horror stories of the filthy effluent spewing forth from the mouths of Baptist and Protestant apostates who deny the Virgin birth, who deny the blood of Christ, who deny the doctrine of a literal hell, who deny the Bible’s condemnation of homosexuality, who deny that Christ is the only way, who deny a literal Genesis creation, who deny the bodily resurrection of Christ, who pander to the Roman harlot, etc. In doing what they do, they deny the very Word of God.  “Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh,  despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.” (Jude 8).  There has never been an apostasy that did not start with the denial and the distortion or twisting of the Word of God.  Its first instance was: “Yea, hath God said”.  The purpose of this course is to give you the resources and conviction to defend the King James Bible from the onslaught of modernist apostate Bible correctors.

In response to the clamor within today’s professing Christianity for a modern Bible version in their own polluted worldly language we quote the following statement from pages 242-243 of “The King James Version Defended” by Edward F. Hills:

“In regard to Bible versions many contemporary Christians are behaving like spoiled and rebellious children. They want a Bible version that pleases them no matter whether it pleases God or not. "We want a Bible version in our own idiom," they clamor. "We want a Bible that talks to us in the same way in which we talk to our friends over the telephone. We want an informal God, no better educated than ourselves, with a limited vocabulary and a taste for modern slang." And having thus registered their preference, they go their several ways. Some of them unite with the modernists in using the R.S.V. or the N.E.B. Others deem the N.A.S.V. or the N.I.V. more "evangelical". Still others opt for the T.E.V. or the Living Bible.
But God is bigger than you are, dear friend, and the Bible version which you must use is not a matter for you to decide according to your whims and prejudices. It has already been decided for you by the workings of God's special providence. If you ignore this providence and choose to adopt one of the modern versions, you will be taking the first step in the logic of unbelief. For the arguments which you must use to justify your choice are the same arguments which unbelievers use to justify theirs, the same method. If you adopt one of these modern versions, you must adopt the naturalistic New Testament textual criticism upon which it rests. This naturalistic textual criticism requires us to study the New Testament text in the same way in which we study the texts of secular books which have not been preserved by God's special providence. In other words, naturalistic textual criticism regards the special, providential preservation of the Scriptures as of no importance for the study of the New Testament text. But if we concede this, then it follows that the infallible inspiration of the Scriptures is likewise unimportant. For why is it important that God should infallibly inspire the Scriptures, if it is not important that He should preserve them by His special providence?
Where, oh where, dear brother or sister, did you ever get the idea that it is up to you to decide which Bible version you will receive as God's holy Word. As long as you harbor this false notion, you are little better than an unbeliever. As long as you cherish this erroneous opinion, you are entirely on your own. For you the Bible has no real authority, only that which your rebellious reason deigns to give it. For you there is no comfort no assurance of faith. Cast off, therefore, this carnal mind that leads to death! Put on the spiritual mind that leads to life and peace! Receive by faith the True Text of God's holy Word, which has been preserved down through the ages by His special providence and now is found in the Masoretic Hebrew text, the Greek Textus Receptus, and the King James Version and other faithful translations!”

One of the most important questions you will ever ask is:  “Has God preserved His Word?” In fact, has God preserved His very Words?  God said in Psalm 12:6-7:

Psalm 12:6-7
6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

The battle for the Bible rests not in man’s scholarship but in man’s faith in God.  If you have any reservations about God’s ability to preserve His words, then you are doubting God.  If you are doubting God then you are lacking in faith.  Edward F. Hills had this to say about faith and God:

He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him (Heb. 11 :6b). If I truly believe in God, then God is more real to me than anything else I know, more real even than my faith in Him. For if anything else is more real to me than God Himself, then I am not believing but doubting.  (From “The King James Version Defended, page 61; Edward F. Hills)

How real is God to you?  Is God real enough to preserve His word?  Do you believe that God is perfect?  Do you believe that God’s Word is perfect? I believe that God is perfect in His promises.  I believe that he has preserved a perfect Bible for us.

Bible preservation is inseparably linked to Bible inspiration.  It would be nonsense for God to inspire a Bible that He could not, or would not, preserve.  To say that you believe in the inspiration of the originals is a lazy, lily-livered answer to the question of: “Do you believe that you have the inspired, preserved Word of God in your hands?”.  Defending the inspiration of the originals is an impossible task since you cannot defend that which you do not have.  You cannot defend the originals because we do not have them.  In fact, we do not have the original of the 1611 Authorized Version of the King James Bible. We definitely do not have the original of Jeremiah since Jehoiakim burnt them.  Jehoiakim burnt at least the first 35 chapters of Jeremiah.  Jeremiah 36:1-2 says:

Jeremiah 36:1-2
And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that this word came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, 2 Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.

We also know that Jeremiah wrote a second “original” from Jeremiah 36:27-28 where it reads:

Jeremiah 36:27-28
27 Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying, 28 Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned”.

We also know that a third “original” had to be written because Jeremiah cast the second “original” in the river Euphrates as we see in Jeremiah 51:63: “63 And it shall be, when thou hast made an end of reading this book, that thou shalt bind a stone to it, and cast it into the midst of Euphrates”: So much for the originals!

The King James Bible is the Bible that God provided for the English speaking peoples of the world. The King James Bible is inerrant.  The King James Bible is infallible.  The King James Bible is without error in its recording.  The King James Bible is without error in its teaching.  In short, the King James Bible is perfect.  Did you hear that.  The King James Bible is perfect.  Now that statement will make some people real nervous – even some King James advocates.  If you do not have a perfect Bible, you better go looking for one.

D. A. Waite said this about the King James Bible on page xi of his book “Defending The King James Bible”:

“It has been the purpose of this study to answer both of the above questions by pointing to the King James Bible , proving its superiority in four areas: (1) its superior texts; (2) its superior translators; (3) its superior techniques; and (4) its superior theology.  In all four of these areas the King James Bible has no equals”

In the above quote the superior texts referred to are the Hebrew Masoretic text for the Old Testament and the Greek Received Text (Textus Receptus) for the New Testament.  There never was before, and has not since been, a more linguistically qualified group of English speaking men to make up a translation committee.  Many of these men were more at home in their foreign language(s) of specialty than they were in their native English.  Two outstanding books that discuss the translators in great detail are “The Men Behind The King James Version” by Gustavus Paine and “The Translators Revived” by Alexander McClure.  The superior techniques referred to above deals with the methods of translation.  The two basic methods are Formal Equivalence (the King James technique) and Dynamic Equivalence (the technique used by most modern versions other than three versions and that would include the “New King James Version”, “New American Standard Version”, and “American Standard Version”.  The NKJV uses a combination of both).  An excellent 70 page booklet called “Dynamic Equivalency: Death Knell of Pure Scripture” was written by David W. Cloud discussing dynamic equivalency.  The superior theology mentioned  above refers to the doctrinal corruptions that have been introduced into the modern texts because of some translator’s sin, unbelief, warped theology, or outright heresy.

The typical Bible corrector has favorite phrases, or buzz words, he likes to use when correcting your Bible: phrases like “The oldest and best manuscripts say...”.  Yea, hath God said? “In the Hebrew this actually means...”.  “In the Greek this actually means...”.  “Many manuscripts do not contain this verse”.  Yea, hath God said?  “ These verses do not appear in the most trustworthy manuscripts”.  Yea, hath God said?  “This would be better translated...”.  Yea, hath God said? “The King James translators...”.  “Better....”.   “This should probably read...”. “Perhaps the correct reading should be...”.  Yea, hath God said?  “Another reading translates it...”.  “Many manuscripts omit...”. Yea, hath God said?  “Reliable texts insert...”.  “Some texts read...”.  “Some texts omit this phrase”.  Yea, hath God said?  “The better reading is...”.   Folks, these are all quotes. To all of this we say hogwash!  What drivel!  Just look in the footnotes of the typical King James study Bible; even those out of “conservative” (with tongue in cheek) institutions.  The “KJV Ryrie Study Bible” is consumed with the cancer of Bible correcting.  I have not had time to complete the count for the whole of the “KJV Ryrie Study Bible”, but Charles C. Ryrie believes you have at least 88 errors in your King James Bible between Genesis 1:1 and Judges 6:22.  Amazing!  Then why did he sign his name to something that has so many errors in it?  Money – filthy lucre!  He also wanted to graciously show you some of his “Christian” scholarship.  Sad and so wicked.  There is no sure word of prophecy in all that; only doubt.  What an abomination before God!

The ultimate effect, and dare we say goal, of all this “well meaning” Satanic “scholarship” is to cast doubt on the truth, accuracy, authority, inerrancy, and infallibility of God’s preserved word for the English speaking peoples.  That preserved word is the 1611 King James Bible.  The ultimate goal is to have any Bible just so it is not the King James Bible.  When these wicked Bible correcting scholars refer to “the oldest and best manuscripts”, they are almost always referring to only five out of over 5,255 manuscripts.  Huh?? That’s right!!  That is less than 1% of the available manuscript evidence.  Generally, when a Bible corrector uses any of the correcting statements from the previous paragraph, they are using these five corrupt manuscripts to correct the King James Bible.  These five manuscripts are:(1) Aleph (a) = Sinaiticus  (2) A= Alexandrinus (3) B= Vaticanus (4) C= Ephraemi Rescriptus  (5)  D– Bezae Cantabrigiensis.  Jack Moorman in quoting Herman Hoskier states:

“These five are the primary reason why we have so many modern versions today "based on older and better manuscripts than the Authorized Version." Herman Hoskier in "Codex B and its Allies" said, "There are over 3000 real differences between Aleph and B in the Gospels alone!" This is the kind of "foundation" that one has in the new versions.”(“Forever Settled”, pages 112 and 115)

In fact, in the vast majority of cases, when they refer to the “oldest and best” manuscripts they are referring to their two corrupt idols Vaticanus and Sinaiticus.  When we consider the pure weight of the evidence presented in the above paragraph, we would have to conclude that the modernist, unbelieving scholars are nothing more than idolaters who worship Vaticanus and Sinaiticus to the exclusion of all the facts and evidence.  The true objective of these “scholars” is to find and use any reading that conflicts with the Greek and Hebrew Received Text or the King James Bible.  The objective is not accuracy, but to overthrow the King James Bible!  Of the five manuscripts listed above, when discussing Biblical text preservation on pages 11-13 of his book “The Traditional Text of the Holy Gospels”, Dean John Burgon had this to say:

“I am utterly disinclined to believe – so grossly improbable does it seem – that at the end of 1800 years 995 copies out of every thousand, suppose, will prove untrustworthy; and that the one, two, three, four, or five which remain, whose contents were till yesterday as good as unknown, will be found to have retained the secret of what the Holy Spirit originally inspired.  I am utterly unable to believe, in short, that God’s promise has so entirely failed, that at the end of 1800 years much of the text of the Gospel had in point of fact to be picked by a German critic out of a waste-paper basket in the convent of St. Catherine; and that the entire text had to be remodelled after the pattern set by a couple of copies which had remained in neglect during fifteen centuries, and had probably owed their survival to that neglect; whilst hundreds of others had been thumbed to pieces, and had bequeathed their witness to copies made from them.”

To that we would have to say a resounding amen!
Concerning the corrupt Vaticanus and Sinaiticus manuscripts Jack Moorman makes the following observation:

“Dean John Burgon, who spent many years examining both MSS said, "It is in fact easier to find two consecutive verses in which these two MSS differ, than two consecutive verses in which they entirely agree. ` “Dean John Burgon in commenting on three of these manuscripts assures us: “We venture to assure you, without a particle of hesitation, that Aleph, B and D are three of the most scandalously corrupt copies extant. They have become the depositories of the largest amount of fabricated readings, ancient blunders, and intentional perversions of truth, which are discoverable in any known copies of the word of God.””(“Forever Settled”, pages 115 and 119)

The objective of Satan is to have the pure Word of God sacrificed on his altar in the temple of intellectual idolatry that has as its chief four cornerstones: (1) the Roman Catholic controlled Bible societies, (2) the Roman Catholic Vaticanus and Sinaiticus texts, (3) the Roman Catholic Westcott and Hort textual theory, and (4) the unbelief of modern scholarship.  Ever since Romanism lost the battle to deny the common man the Scriptures, they have through the subterfuge of textual criticism, scholarolatry, and Jesuit intrigue sought to overthrow the Christian belief in the truth, accuracy, authority, inerrancy, and infallibility of God’s preserved word in the reliable, God honored translations into foreign languages as well as English.  The King James Bible has been the object of an especially vile, wicked, and virulent Satanic attack on all fronts from the unbelieving textual critic and scholar as well the apostate professing Christian.  The battle for the English Bible had as part of its beginning the struggles of William Tyndale against Romanism.  Quoting from page 212 of Jack Moorman’s book “Forever Settled”(talking about Tyndale):

It was then, in disputing with a learned man who put the Pope's laws above God's laws, that he made his famous vow, "If God spare my life, ere many years, I will cause a boy that driveth a plough shall know more of the Scripture than thou doest." From that moment until he was burnt at the stake, his life was one of continual sacrifice and persecution.

If you would like to read more information concerning the bloody trail of human suffering, carnage, and persecution that was strewn with the bodies of Bible believing Christians by the Roman Catholic Church, read the book “Rome And The Bible” by David W. Cloud.  That this carnage had the official sanction of the Roman Catholic Church is proved by this quote from page 42 of “Rome And The Bible”:

It was during the reign of Innocent III (1198-1216) that the Inquisition formally began.  Though it is obvious from the previous facts that Bible-believers had been persecuted by the Roman Catholic church for centuries before this, Innocent III systematized the Inquisition more thoroughly than his predecessors.  This pope declared that heretics should forfeit their lives.  He also forbade the people to read the Bible in their own language.  In the year 1215 Innocent III issued a statement which commanded “that they should be seized for trial and penalties, WHO ENGAGE IN THE TRANSLATION OF THE SACRED VOLUMES, or who hold secret conventicles, or who assume the office of preaching without the authority of their superiors; against whom process shall be commenced, without any permission of appeal” (J. P. Callender, Illustrations of Popery, 1838, p. 387).  Innocent “declared that as by the old law, the beast touching the holy mount was to be stoned to death, so simple and uneducated men were not to touch the Bible or venture to preach its doctrines” (Schaff, History of the Christian Church, VI, p. 723).

Innocent (??? huh?).  Innocent’s idea of penalties was to kill the victim and their entire family.  Then take every thing they owned.  They had to make money somehow since they would not allow themselves to sell perversions of the Bible to the “simple and uneducated” common man.  Since this simple and uneducated common man can no longer be denied his Bible an attempt is made to make him doubt his Bible or to make him believe that he cannot understand the Bible without the textual critic and scholar (the new priests; some even Jesuit priests).  These new priests have deceived most preachers and teachers in Christian pulpits and classrooms.

Many of our fundamental Baptist preachers and teachers have sit at the feet of unbelieving and/or apostate textual critics, textual scholars, Bible college professors, teachers, and preachers who wickedly and freely correct the King James Bible.  Therefore, our teachers and preachers have caught the vexing vile various version virus.  This virus leads to spiritual death.  We would insist that no preacher or teacher  EVER use the Hebrew or the Greek to correct the King James.  If you do, those sitting under you would be justified in boisterously denouncing you as the walk out in protest.  Before you decide to correct the King James Bible just sit down and do not even open your mouth.  In other words, just SHUT UP!   Consider this.  That little Greek or Hebrew nugget that you put in your mouth to correct the King James Bible with stinks worse than a hunk of skunk sprayed limburger cheese when it comes out of the sewer of your mouth.  It comes to your mouth from the septic tank of your mind.  It is an abuse of the Word of God and pastoral and teaching authority to correct the Bible from the pulpit or lectern.  Before you consider correcting the Bible, consider this.  God said through David in Psalm 138:2:   “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name”. Notice that God MAGNIFIED HIS WORD even above all His name.  Each time we teach or preach the Word of God we should consider Psalm 138:2.  God’s Word is holy.  God’s Word is to be uplifted, magnified, praised, and reverenced.  It is not to be corrected.

We also need to be very careful even when we use the Greek or Hebrew to support the King James Bible.  Frequent use of the Hebrew and the Greek to support the King James Bible might lead someone to the impression that somehow or other the English is not quite good enough.  It could lead people to suspect or believe that you lack confidence in your King James Bible.  Most of the time, an appeal to the Greek or the Hebrew (even when used in the positive sense of supporting the King James Bible) is an appeal to intellectual pride.   We are not saying do not ever used the Greek to support the King James Bible.  We are saying you must be very careful when you do it.  The safest aproach would be to totally refrain from using the Greek or the Hebrew while teaching or preaching before a congregation or in a class.  Remember they do not speak Greek.  That is why God provided Godly translators for the 1611 King James Bible.  For most of us, it is hard enough to teach and preach in English.  Many times we do not understand the power and force of the English before we start propounding and expounding upon the power and force of the Greek.  “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”(Hebrews 4:12).  How is that for a powerful and forceful statement in “the English”?  What are the intents of the Bible corrector, textual critic, textual scholar, and publishing houses??

Never try to  use the English to correct the Greek Textus Receptus, Hebrew Masoretic Text, or any faithful translations of the Bible into other languages.  By faithful translations, we mean foreign language translations that are based upon the Greek Textus Receptus and the Hebrew Masoretic Text.  Also, never make the statement that the Authorized King James Version of 1611 is new revelation as some have.  If you state that the 1611 is new revelation, you would have to believe that God denied the full revelation of His truth to His Church for well over 1,500 years.

To say that some word or phrase could have been translated differently is not to state that it should have been translated differently.  To say that something could have been translated differently is not to say that something is in error.  To state that the King James Bible is in error is to state that God  is wrong and has been wrong for almost 400 years.  It is inconceivable that God would have allowed the English speaking peoples to have a Bible for one day that was wrong, much less almost 400 years.  God gave us the most complete and the most beautiful work of prose ever published in the English language when He gave us the King James Bible.  In short, God gave us a perfect book with the perfect plan of the ages whose express purpose is to present a perfect Saviour.

Many complain about the archaic language and words that are in the King James Bible.  I can do no better than quoting Edward F. Hills from page 218 of “The King James Version Defended”:

“In the first place, the English of the King James Version is not the English of the early 17th century. To be exact, it is not a type of English that was ever spoken anywhere. It is biblical English, which was not used on ordinary occasions even by the translators who produced the King James Version. As H. Wheeler Robinson (1940) pointed out, one need only compare the preface written by the translators with the text of their translation to feel the difference in style.  And the observations of W. A. Irwin (1952) are to the same purport. The King James Version, he reminds us, owes its merit, not to 17th-century English—which was very different—but to its faithful translation of the original. Its style is that of the Hebrew and of the New Testament Greek.  Even in their use of thee and thou the translators were not following 17th-century English usage but biblical usage, for at the time these translators were doing their work these singular forms had already been replaced by the plural you in polite conversation.”

Archaic language and phrases are not the issue.  Surely, the textual critics and scholars are not so naive as to believe that someone who is to lazy to look up some old, “archaic” English word in an English dictionary will take the time and effort to break out his Hebrew or Greek lexicon to shed more “light and understanding” on a word or passage in their “archaic” 1611 Authorized Version.  Neither would that same lazy individual take time to look up that more complex, multi-syllabled word that they find in their most recent version of the “New International Version”.  The King James Bible is written on a lower grade level than any of the modern translations (see “The Comparative Readability of the Authorized Version by D. A. Waite, Jr.).  The translation of 1611 took the English language to its highest level.  It was through the very words of God that the English language magnified itself to produce the most beautiful and rhythmic piece of prose that has ever been written.  Sir Frederick Kenyon (textual scholar) stated that: “It is a simple truth that as literature the English Authorized Version is superior to the original Greek”.  The Bible is a holy book and its language does not belong in the gutter of modern English slang, lingo, and colloquial expressions.  When God speaks through His Word it should immediately sound different from some modern magazine, newspaper, or periodical.  God set the example for what our language should be in 1 Corinthians 2:13: “Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual”.

It was God the Son who said in John 16:13-15 that He, God the Holy Spirit, would guide us into all truth.  Now, that was a promise that was given to the believer and not to some unbelieving scholar or unbelieving textual critic whose constant question is: “Yea, hath God Said?”  God did not promise to send some scornful, pompous, unbelieving heathen Greek or Hebrew scholars and/or philosophers to lead us into all truth.  Neither did he promise to send some elitist, intellectually proud, Bible correcting, apostate preachers or teachers to lead Christians into all truth.  Jack Moorman said this on page 251 of his book “Forever Settled”:

“Something other than an acquaintanceship, more or less, with a crushing mass of intricate details in the Hebrew and the Greek is necessary to be a successful translator of God's Holy Word. God's Holy Spirit must assist”.  When we rely on man’s knowledge we are leaning on our own understanding.

The product of man’s knowledge is Gnosticism which is nothing more than a belief in a multiplicity of gods.  Gnosticism has as its root word the Greek word “gnosis” which is where we get our English word “knowledge” from.  Gnosticism has as its bedfellows the heresies of Docetism, Adoptionism, Sabellianism, and Arianism.  Gnosticism had many gods including three separate representations of “deity” in the forms of the Logos, Christ, and Jesus (yes Jesus separated from Christ).  Docetism denied the human nature of Christ.  Adoptionism teaches that Jesus was born a mere man and only became the Son of God when he was  “Adopted” by God through the indwelling of the Logos and the descent of the Holy Spirit (hence men may become gods by the same process).  Sabellianism teaches that God merely manifested himself in three separate ways: the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit (thus denying the Trinity, or the tri-unity of the Godhead).  Arianism is the teaching that the Lord Jesus Christ was created by God (This makes Christ a god among many gods – a twist on Gnosticism – rather than God the Son.  This is the heresy of the Jehovah Witnesses.).  Gnosticism exalts man’s knowledge above the authority of a single, unified Triune Godhead.  Gnosticism is another way of saying: “We will have no one God over us” because that would constitute one final, absolute authority over us.

Most of the early correctors of the Bible and textual critics were Gnostics such as Tatian, Clement of Alexander, and Origen.  The NIV Inclusive Language Bible is the product of a modern day Gnosticism that had its roots in the ancient heresy that God was both father and mother – a teaching that influenced Clement of Alexander.  The heresy of Universalism is a twist on the early heresy of Gnosticism because Universalism effectively sees a multiplicity of gods since it sees universal salvation for all of mankind – hence any god will do.  Unitarians are Universalists.  Mormons are effectively Universalists also.  Mormons are the Gnostics of Gnostics.  Mormons have so refined the ancient heresy of Gnosticism that it is now disguised as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14).  The effect of Gnosticism is to exalt man’s knowledge above the final authority of an absolute God and an absolute final authority of an unchanging Word of God.  It is scholarolatry.  With an unchanging Word of God there would be no need to provide filthy lucre for the apostate, unbelieving textual critic; filthy lucre for the Greek scholar; filthy lucre for the copyright owner; filthy lucre for the apostate fundamentalist Bible correctors at Bob Jones University, any Southern Baptist Seminary, Moody Bible Institute, Central Baptist Theological Seminary, Tennessee Temple, Detroit Baptist Seminary, etc.  Hence money becomes the final authority rather than the Word of God.

The fundamental problem with the unbelieving scholar is that they lack the foundation, or the beginning of knowledge, that is required by God.  Proverbs 1:7 tells us: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction”.  Proverbs 9:10 tells us: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding”.  Might I add, that true wisdom is knowledge enlightened by the Holy Ghost who grants spiritual understanding and discernment.  The natural man, and therefore, the natural scholar lacks the spiritual discernment, the spiritual understanding, and the spiritual motivation to handle the Word of God without deceit.  Concerning wisdom and spiritual discernment, the Word of God clearly states in 1 Corinthians 2:13-14:

1 Corinthians 2:13-14
13Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The unbelieving scholar has had their understanding darkened by the ignorance that is in their hearts. God said in Ephesians 4:18: “18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart”. The crux of the problem for the unbelieving scholar lies in what God has said in Isaiah 55:7-11:

Isaiah 55:7-11
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.   8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

The wicked, or apostate,  scholar has forsaken the way of the Lord.  The unbelieving scholar is unrighteous in his thoughts.  The unbelieving scholar has not trusted in the Lord.  Therefore, that scholar’s path is not directed toward the thoughts and ways of the Lord.   Proverbs 3:5-6 says: ‘5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”.

Another issue that bears heavy on what translation God would put His stamp of approval on, is the issue of holiness.  Holiness stems from belief.  Unbelief is an opposite of holiness.  It was God who said in 2 Peter 1:19-21:

2 Peter 1:19-21
19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Notice that it was holy men of God that spake.  Holy men of God are saved men.  It would be preposterous to assume that God would give His Word by holy men and then would not provide for holy, saved men to translate it.  God said in Titus 1:15: “15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled”.  Notice that God said that nothing is pure to the defiled and unbelieving.  That nothing would include the very words of God.  God also said here that the mind and conscience of the unbelieving is defiled.  The process of translation is reasoned through in the mind and conscience.  The mind provides the cold hard facts.  The conscience provides the reasoning to interpret facts.  Translation is interpreting from one language to another language.  If the conscience is defiled, how then can that which comes from it be pure.  Even if we assume a neutral mind that would handle the text in a neutral manner, we still have the Word of God that describes that mind as defiled because of unbelief.  What then?  There can be no neutrality in the matter of Bible texts for the unbelieving textual critic, scholar, or translator.  Even the most neutral mind of the unregenerate natural man is at enmity with God.

The question(s) then would be can you trust an unbelieving critic or scholar to give you a translation from the mind of God?; what about a unitarian that does not believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ?; what about the universalist who believes all will be saved?; what about the one who does not believe in a literal hell, the literal bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, the literal creation of Genesis?; what about the one who believes the Old Testament books are but a collection of Hebrew myth and fiction?; what about the one who says the Scriptures are of little use to those who interpret them literally?; what about the one who believes that Darwin’s theory of evolution is unanswerable?; what about the one who does not believe in the Virgin Birth?; what about the one who would equate the worship of Christ with the worship of Mary?; what about the one who believes Christ was a created being?; what about the practicing homosexuals (I for one do not make a distinction between the practicing and the dormant homosexual.  A person who has been genuinely regenerated by the Spirit of God is no longer a homosexual.  They are a delivered Christian.  Homosexuals are not born.  They are made.)?  We could go on and on with the list of heresies, but the point has already been made.  Such is the ilk of many, if not most, modern textual critics, scholars, and translators whether they be individual translators or members of translation committees.

So, what can we say about textual criticism and scholarship?  Most  modern textual criticism proceeds from unbelief and apostasy.  When speaking of lower and higher textual criticism, let me state that no Bible believing Christian should ever be an advocate of higher or lower criticism except as a means to defend the Received Text(s) and the King James Bible.  Modern Bible criticism does not proceed from faith in God, but rather proceeds from faith in man’s “scholarship” which is a foundation built on quicksand.  Unfortunately, many King James defenders are viciously and condescendingly presented as being intellectual dunces who are uneducated, ignorant, and incapable of understanding the textual issue when in fact the opposite is true.  Many men and women who defend the King James Bible have suffered the brunt of mockery and derision at the altar of sacrifice of modern “scholarship” (falsely called science), philosophy, and textual criticism.  It is strange – and a distortion of facts – that an anti King James critic would accuse King James people of creating strife and splitting churches because we stand for the King James Bible.   When confronted with this intellectual dishonesty the King James Bible believer should ask the question: “Who was there first; the King James Bible believer or the unbelieving, apostate, Bible correcting modernists and neo-evangelicals?”  The answer to this question should be obvious to the Christian and to these blind guides.

I would encourage any Christian who walks into a church that is not using the King James Bible to turn around and walk out immediately.  Do not stay and stir up strife.  When confronted with the temptation to create strife within a congregation on  Bible version doctrine your response should be Ephesians 5:11: “ And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them”. Your act of reproof should extend only to your getting up and walking out.  Also, remember the admonishment of Revelation 18:4: “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues”.  The  duty of any King James Bible believing man or women is that they be prepared to respond to attacks on the King James Bible.  As a Christian, it is your obligation to be totally informed about Bible version doctrine.  God said in Hosea 4:6: “ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children”.  You should not seek confrontation, but neither should you run from adversity.  God said in Proverbs 24:10: “10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small”.   If you make a stand for the King James Bible, you will not have to seek confrontation or adversity because Satan, the adversary, will make sure you are vexed with plenty of both.

If you are a Christian who strongly advocates any version but the King James Bible, I would encourage you not to create strife in a congregation that will only use the King James Bible.  For in doing so you are sowing discord among the brethren which is one of the seven things the Lord hates (Proverbs 6:16).  If you are a Christian who strongly advocates any version but the King James Bible, you cannot possibly reject the King James Bible for the same reasons that a King James advocate rejects your version of the Bible.   For you it is an issue of scholarship.  For the King James advocate it is first an issue of faith.  All issues concerning Bible translations should proceed first from faith.  Then, and only then should scholarship be used to defend the Bible.

After carefully examining all the facts and evidence (and not simply limited to that which is in this short introduction), we would  have to conclude that the thought processes of these unbelieving modernist scholars and textual critics is purely evolutionary.  Do not miss the connection between that statement and Darwinianism.  The theory of evolution and the modernist Bible textual theories were conceived in the hotbeds of the German rationalism and philosophy that had polluted and perverted the thought processes of the modernist textual scholars and critics of the 1800s.  Notice that I did not use the word Christian in relation to these scholars.  The theories of evolution and modern textual criticism are nothing more than Satanic religious systems.  Even the most simple minded, unregenerate, honest man would reject both theories if they were objectively presented to him.  Evolution is a lie.  Modern textual criticism is a lie.  Modern textual criticism is not science, but religion.  We would do well to consider Paul’s admonishment to Timothy in 1 Timothy 6:20: “O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called”.  That which had been committed to Timothy were the very words of God.  Consider also the words of Paul to the Colossians in Colossians 2:8: “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ”.   Modern textual criticism is man’s philosophy whose septic effluent is nothing other than profane and vain babblings and deceit.  Satan is the father of these lies and liars (John 8:44).  Modern textual criticism is of the things of hidden dishonesty; it walks in craftiness; it handles the Word of God deceitfully; it is a false angel of light; it is the product of false prophets and teachers; it is feigned words that makes merchandise of those who would buy the modern perversions that are turned out of the money mills of publishing houses. Modern textual criticism is not after Christ.  In short, it is a DAMNABLE HERESY!  We close with:

2 Corinthians 4:1-4
Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.  3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

2 Peter 2:1-3
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.  3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
