DEITY AND TITLES OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

In the new versions there have been concerted attacks on the doctrines and facts relating to the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, making Joseph the father of Jesus, taking away from the virgin birth, denying that Mary is the mother of multiple children, the blood of Christ, the eternality of Christ, doctrine, heresy, heaven and hell, abominations, repentance, sodomy, salvation, turning ministers and servants into slaves, fasting and prayer, baptism, the Trinity, the resurrection, and etc.  This chapter and some of the following chapters will address some of these issues.  God considers doctrine to be very important.  The word doctrine occurs 56 times in the King James Bible.  As we will see later on, it is a word and a concept that is much taken away in the new versions.
    The new versions routinely take away from the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.  The new versions remove the title “Jesus Christ” as follows: American Standard Version (54 times), Contemporary English Version (62 times), English Standard Version (59 times), God’s Word (45 times), International Standard Version (60 times), Living Bible (26 times), The Message (112 times), New American Bible (60 times), New American Standard Bible (63 times), New Century Version (55 times), New International Version (63 times), New Jerusalem Bible (58 times), New King James Version (13 times), New Living Translation (60 times), New Revised Standard Version (60 times), Revised Standard Version (59 times), Today’s English Version (61 times), and Young’s Literal Translation (17 times). 
    The new versions remove the title “Lord Jesus” as follows: American Standard Version (13 times), Contemporary English Version (7 times), English Standard Version (14 times), God’s Word (15 times), International Standard Version (14 times), Living Bible (12 times), The Message (118 times!!), New American Bible (12 times), New American Standard Bible (15 times), New Century Version (14 times), New International Version (16 times), New Jerusalem Bible (15 times), New King James Version (adds one), New Living Translation (16 times), New Revised Standard Version (15 times), Revised Standard Version (14 times), Today’s English Version (13 times), and Young’s Literal Translation (zero times). 
    The new versions remove the title “Lord Jesus Christ” as follows: American Standard Version (20 times), Contemporary English Version (26 times), English Standard Version (22 times), God’s Word (24 times), International Standard Version (20 times), Living Bible (15 times), The Message (85 times), New American Bible (21 times), New American Standard Bible (22 times), New Century Version (22 times), New International Version (25 times), New Jerusalem Bible (23 times), New King James Version (zero times), New Living Translation (26 times), New Revised Standard Version (23 times), Revised Standard Version (22 times), Today’s English Version (23 times), and Young’s Literal Translation (zero times).  The new versions remove the title “Son of God” as follows: American Standard Version (3 times), Contemporary English Version (20 times), English Standard Version (5 times), God’s Word (11 times), International Standard Version (15 times), Living Bible (once), The Message (25 times), New American Bible (10 times), New American Standard Bible (5 times), New Century Version (11 times), New International Version (12 times), New Jerusalem Bible (13 times), New King James Version (2 times), New Living Translation (12 times), New Revised Standard Version (14 times), Revised Standard Version (5 times), Today’s English Version (16 times), Young’s Literal Translation (6 times). “The Son of God” is removed from the furnace with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3:25 by every modern version except the New King James Version.  He is replaced by the pagan “a son of the gods” in the American Standard Version, English Standard Version, God’s Word, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New Jerusalem Bible, Revised Standard Version, and Young’s Literal Translation.  There is a very big practical and logical problem involved here.  If this is not the preincarnate Lord Jesus Christ in the furnace with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, are we to assume that a pagan “son of the gods” could possibly have survived the tremendous heat in a furnace that was heated to seven times its normal temperature.  I trow not!!
    The Message, New Century Version, and New International Version like the term “one and only son” in relation to the Lord Jesus Christ.  That is not scriptural because Christ is the only begotten Son of God.  The Lord Jesus Christ was conceived, or begotten, in the flesh by the Holy Ghost. Another problem with the term  “one and only son” is that it contradicts other scripture that says that Christians are the “sons of God”, or in other words the children of God to parrot the new versions.  John 1:12 (King James Bible) says:  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”.  The problem with the new versions using children in John 1:12 is that it is not an accurate translations of the Greek text from which it is translated.  Even though it is gender neutral and politically correct, it is still an inaccurate translation.
    The Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, God’s Word, International Standard Version, Living Bible, The Message, New American Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New Jerusalem Bible, New Living Translation, New Revised Standard Version, Revised Standard Version, and Today’s English Version completely remove the phrase “the only begotten Son” from their pages.  The New American Standard Bible removes it once and the Young’s Literal Translation removes it three times.  The wicked New American Standard Bible, joining the Jehovah Witnesses’  New World Translation, refers to the Lord Jesus Christ as an “only begotten God” in John 1:18 thereby giving credence to the Arian heresy that the Lord Jesus Christ was a created being.  Note the following in John 1:18 of the wicked New American Standard Bible95: “18No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him”.  Blasphemy!  The Lord Jesus Christ is not a begotten God!  The Lord Jesus Christ is God from eternity past to eternity future.  The Lord Jesus Christ is fully GOD and fully EQUAL with God.  The Bible says in Philippians 2:5-6 (King James Bible) 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:”.  The American Standard Version, English Standard Version, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, and New International Version pervert this scripture by stating that Christ’s equality with God was not something to be grasped.  By this perversion, the Lord Jesus Christ is not equal with God.  In this scripture, the Today’s English Version strongly implies that Christ is not God by using the phrase “He always had the nature of God”.  There is a vast difference between having the nature of God and BEING God.  In a certain sense, truly born again Christians have the nature of God because they have been regenerated in the spiritual image (nature) of God, but that does not make them God.  The fact that the Lord Jesus Christ is God in the flesh is taken out of almost every English version in 1 Timothy 3:16.  The context of John 1:14 proves that God the Word (John 1:1) was manifested in the flesh as God with us (Emmanuel, Matthew 1:23 and Isaiah 7:14).

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

 1 Timothy 3:16 (King James Bible)
16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
   
    Since 1 Timothy 3:16 is one of the strongest phrases in the New Testament stating that the Lord Jesus Christ is God, it is not surprising that modern day Christ rejecting, Arian (Jehovah Witnesses, Unitarians, etc.) translators would remove God from this verse since they do not believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is God.  The removal of God from this verse has created some serious grammatical difficulties in the Greek text that this removal is based upon and also in the modern English versions that use that text.  Note the quotes of this verse in the following translations:

    Notice that the Contemporary English Version, New Revised Standard Version, and GNB (Today’s English Version) have forsaken Bible believing Christianity for secret and mystery religions (MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT) . Notice also how the words in the new versions seem to stumble all over one another.  It is like the transmission is slipping  in the vehicle that is driving the words in the sentences.  I think the word God has them stuttering and stumbling all over themselves.  Several of the sentences are grammatically incorrect.  Notice the words “he” and “who” in the American Standard Version, English Standard Version, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New Revised Standard Version, and the Today’s English Version (GNB).  These words just do not fit grammatically in the context of the phrases where they are used.  These changes in 1 Timothy 3:16 follow no Greek manuscript.
It seems that someone has played the knave with the text.  What does the Bible say about anyone who would deny that the Lord Jesus Christ has come in the flesh?  The Bible says:

1 John 4:1-3 (King James Bible)
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
   
2 John 7 (King James Bible)
7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
   
Our Bibles tell us that these folks that deny that the Lord Jesus Christ came in the flesh are false prophets and deceivers that have the spirit of antichrist and are an antichrist.  That settles it for me!
    Just as the Master has been removed from apostate churches and replaced with teachers having itching ears, so has the Master been removed from the pages of the new apostate “Bibles” and replaced with a teacher.  The 1611 King James Bible never uses the upper case word “Teacher” in relation to the Lord Jesus Christ.   The word “Master” occurs 57 times in the King James Bible.  The new versions generally substitute the title “Teacher” for “Master” in the following cases: American Standard Version (40 times), Contemporary English Version (38 times), English Standard Version (39 times), God’s Word (34 times), International Standard Version (38 times), Living Bible (20 times), The Message (39 times), New American Bible (27 times), New American Standard Bible (41 times), New Century Version (52 times), New International Version (33 times), New Jerusalem Bible (3 times), New King James Version (43 times), New Living Translation (50 times), New Revised Standard Version (36 times), Revised Standard Version (39 times), Today’s English Version (55 times), Young’s Literal Translation (36 times).  The Message adds “Master” 323 times because they have ripped most of the other titles of the Lord Jesus Christ from their New Testament. Now, why is all of that??  Can it be that the new versions are moving away from the Master to teachers having itching ears??  Just as the teachers in our public schools can have no final authority, so it is that those ‘Bible” teachers who hold the new versions in their hands can have no final authority.  Our public schools have run amok because there is no final authority to govern and guide them.  Our churches have run amok doctrinally because they have no final authority to direct them in the paths of righteousness.  They are blown about by every wind of doctrine.  Why is that?

THE VIRGIN BIRTH AND THE FIRSTBORN

    The New Century Version, New International Version, New Revised Standard Version, Today’s English Version, God’s Word, International Standard Version, Message, and New American Standard Bible make Joseph the father of the Lord Jesus Christ in Luke 2:33.  The King James Bible says:

33 And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.
   
The new versions identified above say the following in Luke 2:33:

There you have it straight out of the dragon’s mouth.  The Holy Ghost has been replaced by Joseph as the father of the Lord Jesus Christ.
    The New Jerusalem Bible, New Revised Standard Version, Revised Standard Version, and Today’s English Version (GNB) removed the virgin from Isaiah 7:14.  Isaiah 7:14 (King James Bible) says: “ 14Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel”.  The New Revised Standard Version and Today’s English Version replaced the virgin with a young woman.  Not every young woman is a virgin! This destroys the Bible prophecy of a coming Saviour who will be virgin born.  The Contemporary English Version, International Standard Version, Living Bible, New Century Version, New Jerusalem Bible, New Living Translation, Revised Standard Version, Today’s English Version, and Young’s Literal Translation completely remove the references to Jesus being the firstborn of Mary from Matthew 1:25 and Luke 2:7.  The American Standard Version, English Standard Version, God’s Word, The Message, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, New International Version, and New Revised Standard Version remove the reference to Jesus being the firstborn of Mary from Matthew 1:25.  However, the Holy Ghost made sure that the Contemporary English Version, International Standard Version, Living Bible, New Century Version, Today’s English Version, and Young’s Literal Translation got caught with their hands in the devil’s cookie jar when they had to quote Exodus 13:2 in Luke 2:23.

    The use of the word “firstborn” is very critical since its removal gives credibility to the Roman Catholic heresy that Mary was “ever virgin” or a “perpetual virgin”.  The Roman Catholic doctrine of the perpetual virginity of Mary is impossible to hold scripturally.  Matthew 12:46-47, Matthew 13:55-56, Mark 3:31-32, Mark 6:3, Luke 8:19-20, and John 2:12 all destroy  this false doctrine even in the Roman Catholic New American Bible.

THE BLOOD OF CHRIST

    In the King James Bible there are at least 33 references to the blood of Christ.  Without the shedding of blood there is no remission for sin (Hebrews 9:22).  Leviticus 17:11 (King James Bible) says: “11For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul”.  Notice specifically that the life is in the blood.  Whose blood?  Eternal life is in the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Notice that it is also the blood that maketh atonement for the soul.  The Bible says in Hebrews 9:

11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
     
    Colossians 1:13-14 (King James Bible) says: “13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”.  It’s all in the blood.  The atonement is in the blood.  The remissions of sins is in the blood.  The church only exists because Christ has purchased it with his own blood.  The Bible says in Acts 20:28 (King James Bible): “ Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood”.  Through the blood of the sinless Lamb of God we have been cleansed (Revelation 7:14, Revelation 1:5, 1 John 1:7), redeemed (Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14, 1 Peter 1:18-19, Revelation 5:9), justified (Romans 5:9), purchased (Acts 20:28), the recipients of propitiation (Romans 3:25), made nigh unto God (Ephesians 2:13), put at peace with God (Colossians 1:20), allowed to enter into the presence of God (Hebrews 10:19), sanctified (Hebrews 13:11), declared overcomers (Revelation 12:11).

Therefore, any bloodless sacrifice as is perpetuated in the wicked Roman Catholic mass cannot bring about cleansing from sin, victory in Christ (overcomers), redemption, justification, a purchased position in salvation, propitiation, closeness (nigh) to God, peace with God, permission to enter into the presence of God, or sanctification since all these events can only take place through the blood of Christ. 
    I have used a lot of time and space elaborating on the scriptural importance of the blood of Christ because it is a doctrine that is either grossly perverted in application (i.e. Roman Catholicism) or taken away from in the modern perversions of the Bible.  It is also a doctrine that is rarely preached and taught in apostate Laodicean churches.  The blood is why the virgin birth is so important. In the new versions, there has been an attack on the blood of Christ.  The most frequently attacked verse dealing with the blood of Christ is Colossians 1:14 (already quoted twice).  All of the following versions remove the phrase “through his blood” in Colossians 1:14: Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, God’s Word, International Standard Version, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New Jerusalem Bible, New King James Version (deletes with a note), New Living Translation (deletes with a note), New Revised Standard Version, Revised Standard Version, and Today’s English Version.  The Contemporary English Version, The Message, the New Century Version, and the Today’s English Version remove the blood from Matthew 27:4, Matthew 27:24, Matthew 27:25, and Acts 5:28.   The New Living Translation removes the blood from Matthew 27:4, Matthew 27:25, and Acts 5:28. The Living Bible removes the blood from Matthew 27:4 and Acts 5:28. The Living Bible removes the blood entirely from the passage in 1 John 5:6-8.  The New Century Version removes the blood from Acts 20:28 and replaces it with death.  The New Jerusalem Bible also removes the blood from Romans 5:9 and Colossians 1:20.  The Today’s English Version mounts the most vile attack upon the blood of Christ by deleting additional references to the blood of Christ in Hebrews 10:19, 1 Peter 1:19, Revelation 1:5, and Revelation 5:9.  That these passages would be perverted by the Today’s English Version is not surprising since the major translator of the Today’s English Version, Robert Bratcher, did not believe in the blood atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ.  It is the blood of Christ that purchases the atonement and NOT the death of Christ.  Death can come about through numerous means, many of which do not involve the shedding of blood.  There is no remission without the shedding of the blood.

THE ETERNALITY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

    The new versions have destroyed the eternality of the Lord Jesus Christ in Micah 5:2 by removing the phrase “from everlasting”.  The King James Bible says in this verse:

    All these verses have the Lord Jesus Christ as having a beginning lending credence to the Arian heresy that the Lord Jesus Christ was a created being.  In Hebrews 2:11, the English Standard Version, The Message, New American Bible, and Revised Standard Version give the Lord Jesus Christ an origin.  If the Lord Jesus Christ has an origin, or was a created being, then he cannot be our Saviour!  IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THESE CHANGES ARE ATTACKS UPON THE DEITY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!

DOCTRINE

    Many times you will hear the new version advocates stating that not one doctrine is affected in the new versions.  That is far from the truth.  Jack Moorman in his book "Early Manuscripts and the Authorized Version" stated:

    “Here, we are limited to 356 passages where doctrine has been undermined in one way or another.  Others should no doubt have been included.  Passages affecting many of the doctrines are listed, but the emphasis is upon those that affect the Person and Work of Christ.”1

Notice that he said that OTHERS should have been included.  His book includes 96 pages that document at least 356 doctrinal corruptions in the new versions.  In the pages that follow, we are going to discuss some of the major doctrinal corruptions found in the new versions.  We will use the new versions themselves to convict them from their very words.  Their words will be compared against the words of THE BIBLE – the 1611 Authorized King James Bible.  I will also uses the works of other authors in the material that follows.
    The new English versions like to turn the Lucifer of Isaiah 14:12 into the Lord Jesus Christ of 2 Peter 1:19, Revelation 2:28, and Revelation 22:16.  Lucifer’s name is dropped out of Isaiah 14:12 and the morning star is substituted in Today’s English Version (TEV), New International Version (NIV, New Century Version (NCV), Contemporary English Version (CEV), Good News Bible (latter called Today’s English Version), and the New American Bible  (NA B).  The wicked New American Standard Bible (NASB and the 1995 update) has a marginal footnote/cross reference from Isaiah 14:12 to 2 Peter 1:19, Revelation 2:28, and Revelation 22:16.  The 1901 American Standard Version (American Standard Version) drops Lucifer out of Isaiah 14:12 and drops day star in while leaving day star in 2 Peter 1:19 and leaving the morning star in both passages in Revelation.  The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) drops Lucifer out of Isaiah 14:12 and drops day star in while leaving references to the morning star in 2 Peter 1:19, Revelation 2:28, and Revelation 22:16.  What blasphemy!
    The new English versions of the Bible do not like the word doctrine. They are doing everything they can to spiritually dumb down the word of God by taking away the good strong English word “doctrine” and replacing it with a more neutral and weaker term “teaching” on at least 30 different occasions in the New Testament.  The new versions have removed the word “doctrine” in the following instances:  American Standard Version (35 times), Contemporary English Version (56 times), English Standard Version (43 times), God’s Word (48 times), International Standard Version (48 times), Living Bible (52 times), The Message (53 times), New American Bible (44 times), New American Standard Bible (46 times), New Century Version (56 times), New International Version (49 times), New Jerusalem Bible (42 times), New King James Version (14 times), New Living Translation (55 times), New Revised Standard Version (48 times), Revised Standard Version (39 times), Today’s English Version (49 times), Young’s Literal Translation (53 times).  Is there an agenda here?  Second Timothy 4:3-4 (King James Bible): “3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables”.  The English word “doctrine” is a word with a very strong connotation. It presents a picture of an uncompromising stance (discipline) that seeks to please God rather than men. It is included in the meaning of the word “indoctrinate”.   Like it or not, Christians are to be indoctrinated in the word of God by strong, uncompromising teachers and preachers that are led by the Holy Ghost of God.  That does not mean that we are to check our brains at the door.  We are to prove all things and hold fast that which is good (1 Thessalonians 5:21).  We are to search the scriptures daily to determine if what we are being taught is true (Acts 17:11).  We are to try the spirits.  First John 4:1 (King James Bible) warns: “1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world”.  There is a spirit of wickedness that pervades the new versions.
There is also a tendency in the new versions to substitute the indefinite article “A” for the definite article “THE”. At first glance, the change in the article may seem to be innocent and harmless, but it is as dangerous as sticking your hand into a pit of vipers. There is quite a difference in sticking “A” hand into the pit and sticking “THE” hand into the pit. “A” hand can be anyone’s hand. “THE” hand is my hand.  My hand is very personal thing. The definite article “THE” is sometimes referred to as a specific article.  Hence, it is used to refer to THE thing or THE person specifically. The article “A” is sometimes referred to as a general article.  Hence, it is used to refer to things, persons, groups of persons or things, or personalities in general.  There is quite a difference between “A” god and “THE” God.  The term “a god” can refer to one among equals.  The term “the God” refers to the one and only exclusive God. 
    When men and women tamper with the word of the living God, they are sticking their hands into the mouth of THE serpent. There is a tendency in the new English versions to  use the indefinite article “A” rather than the definite article “THE” when referring to salvation, faith, members of the Godhead, and words of God. Hence we see “the son of God” referred to as “a son of the gods”(see Daniel 3:25 in the American Standard Version, English Standard Version, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, Revised Standard Version, “God’s Word”, and Young’s Literal Translation (Young’s Literal Translation)); “the living God” referred to as “a living God”(see Acts 14:15 in the American Standard Version, English Standard Version, New American Standard Bible, Revised Standard Version; Daniel 6:26 in the Today’s English Version; and others); “the living and true God” referred to as “a living and true God”(see 1 Thessalonians 1:9 in the American Standard Version, International Standard Version, New American Standard Bible, New Revised Standard Version, Revised Standard Version, and Young’s Literal Translation); “ the Son of Man” becomes “a Son of Man” (see Revelation 1:13 and Revelation 14:14 in the American Standard Version, English Standard Version, Jewish New Testament, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New Jerusalem Bible, Revised Standard Version, and others); by the addition of the “a”, “ the word” becomes “ a God”(Jehovah Witnesses’ New World Translation) rather than “the Word was God”; “the common faith” becomes “a common faith” (see Titus 1:4 in the American Standard Version, English Standard Version, New American Standard Bible, Revised Standard Version, and Young’s Literal Translation); “the door of faith” becomes “ a door of faith” (a door of faith leaves the door open for many faiths; see Acts 14:27 in the American Standard Version, English Standard Version, International Standard Version, New American Standard Bible, New Revised Standard Version, Revised Standard Version, Young’s Literal Translation, and others); “ the everlasting gospel” is demoted to “an eternal Gospel” (it becomes one of many eternal gospels; see Revelation 14:6 in the English Standard Version, New American Standard Bible, New Revised Standard Version, and Revised Standard Version); “the baptism of repentance” becomes “a baptism of repentance” [see Mark 1:4, Luke 3:3, Acts 13:24, and Acts 19:4 in the English Standard Version (less Acts 19:4), “God’s Word” (less Acts 13:24), International Standard Version, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible (less Acts 19:4), New International Version (less Acts 13:24), New Jerusalem Bible, New King James Version (less Acts 13:24), New Revised Standard Version (less Acts 19:4), Revised Standard Version (less Acts 19:4)]; etc.  Salvation is a present possession and is not based upon obedience or disobedience.  A god is any god.  A salvation is any salvation. You pick it.  A spirit is any spirit.   
        The heretics have walked off the pages of most modern English Bibles carrying their heresy with them while picking up a load of heretical, apostate, unbelieving  translators along the way.  That is not surprising since heresy is inseparably connected to doctrine.  The King James Bible uses the words related to heresy and heretics five different times.  The Contemporary English Version, God’s Word, Living Bible, New Century Version, New Jerusalem Bible, New Revised Standard Version, Today’s English Version, and Young’s Literal Translation have completely removed these terms.  The American Standard Version, English Standard Version, New American Standard Bible, New International Version, New Living Translation, and Revised Standard Version have removed these terms four times.  The New American Bible and the New King James Version removed these terms three times.

HEAVEN AND HELL

    The doctrines of hell and heaven are also under attack in the new perversions of the English Bible.  The word “damnation” is very strongly linked to hell.  The word “damnation” occurs eleven times in the King James Bible, two times in the Living Bible, two times in The Message, four times in the New Living Translation, and is entirely removed from the American Standard Version, the Contemporary English Version, the English Standard Version, God’s Word, the International Standard Version, the New American Bible, the New American Bible, the New American Standard Bible, the New Century Version, the New International Version, the New Jerusalem Bible, the New King James Version, the New Revised Standard Version, the Revised Standard Version, the Today’s English Version (GNB), and the Young’s Literal Translation. The New International Version translates hell “death” in at least six places; translates hell “grave” in at least twenty-two places; translates hell “depths” in at least three places.; translates hell “hades” in at least ten places.  The New American Standard Bible (New American Standard Bible) and the Jehovah Witnesses’ New World Translation translates hell “Sheol” all sixty-seven (67) times in the Old Testament.  Other than for Satanists, who are preoccupied with the occult and have studied the terms ‘sheol’ and ‘hades’, the words ‘sheol’ and ‘hades’ are nondescript terms that have little meaning in our society in general.  Hell is a very strong Bible term that is understood by almost all English speaking peoples.  Ask the average person on the street what the words ‘sheol’ and ‘hades’ mean and you will get a blank stare.  So, why did our modern English translators use these two “modern” and up-to-date words in their versions?  Could it be that they do not believe in a literal hell?  Hort (of Westcott-Hort fame) said that hell was “figurative”.  Westcott said, “hell is not the place of punishment of the guilty”. As a reminder to our readers, the Lord Jesus Christ referred more to hell than to heaven in his earthly ministry.  With the exception of the Living Bible, the new versions in general do not like the word “hell”.  The 1611 text of the King James Bible uses the word ‘hell’ 54 times.  Using the 1611 King James Bible text as the reference, my research revealed that the new versions have removed hell from their Bibles the following number of times: American Standard Version (13), Contemporary English Version (34), English Standard Version (40), God’s Word (19), The Message (54), New American Bible (54), New American Standard Bible (41), New Century Version (39), New International Version (40), New Jerusalem Bible (40), New King James Version (22), New Living Translation (35), New Revised Standard Version (41), Revised Standard Version (41), Today’s English Version (33), and Young’s Literal Translation (54).  The Living Bible adds hell twelve times. The new versions use the words or phrases ‘sheol’, ‘the grave’, ‘Hades’, and ‘Gehenna’ to replace the King James Bible word ‘hell’. The 1611 King James Bible text uses the word heaven 716 times.  Using the 1611 King James Bible text as the reference, my research revealed that the new versions have removed heaven from their Bibles in the following number of instances: Contemporary English Version (223), English Standard Version (15), God’s Word (159), The Message (516), New American Bible (144), New American Standard Bible (75), New Century Version (272), New International Version (120), New Jerusalem Bible (85), New King James Version (12), New Living Translation (66, add one more 6 and we are in trouble), New Revised Standard Version (55), Revised Standard Version (43), and the Today’s English Version (265).  The following versions added heaven: American Standard Version (21), Living Bible (10), and Young’s Literal Translation (32).

JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED

    A favorite phrase of unholy, apostate Christianity is “judge not lest you be judged”.  It is their way of justifying themselves in their sin.  If the church is not allowed to judge their sin, sinners can live just as wickedly as they want; God’s holy name and holy standards are held up to the heathen for mockery by apostate, professing Christianity; false prophets and teachers can violate  every biblical doctrine and standard without fear of being judged; and Satan’s wolves can feed on the innocent sheep at will. The words “judge” and “judgment” imply that there is a standard against which everyone is to be measured and corrected.  That standard is the pure and undefiled word of God.  The new versions do not like the word judgment.  The American Standard Version, Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, International Standard Version, Living Bible, The Message, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New Jerusalem Bible, New Living Translation, New Revised Standard Version, Today’s English Version all take the judgment seat away from Christ and substitute God in Romans 14:10.  Romans 14:10 (King James Bible) says: “10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ”. The word “judgment” is further removed from the new versions as follows: American Standard Version (189 times), Contemporary English Version (357 times), English Standard Version (215 times), God’s Word (319 times),  Living Bible (288 times), New American Bible (233 times), New American Standard Bible (263 times), New Century Version (376 times), New International Version (271 times), New Jerusalem Bible (194 times), New King James Version (109 times), New Living Translation (255 times), New Revised Standard Version (232 times), Revised Standard Version (212 times), and Today’s English Version (307 times). The Young’s Literal Translation adds the word “judgment” 41 times.  The justification for the “judge not”  PHILOSOPHY is Matthew 7:1 where Christ warned is not to judge HYPOCRITICALLY.  In this apostate doctrine we have a classic case of pulling something TOTALLY out of context and wresting it to teach exactly the opposite of what it really teaches.  The whole context of Matthew 7 is judging hypocritical judgement, judging false prophets, judging false teachers, and judging false professions!

ABOMINATION

    Abomination is a very strong Bible word that God uses to describe the sin that characterizes the depraved nature of men and women.  God also uses the word in very strong condemnation of sins that are particularly wicked in his eyes.  Though all sin is revolting to God, sodomy is one of those sins that God describes as an abomination.  Most of the modern English translations do not like the word “abomination”.   This word has been removed from the English versions as follows:  Contemporary English Version (176 times), English Standard Version (35 times), God’s Word (176 times),  Living Bible (169 times), New American Bible (54 times), New American Standard Bible (49 times), New Century Version (176 times), New International Version (165 times), New Jerusalem Bible (155 times), New King James Version (once), New Living Translation (171 times), New Revised Standard Version (48 times), Revised Standard Version (16 times), and Today’s English Version (176 times). The American Standard Version adds “abomination” three times and the Young’s Literal Translation adds it ten times.

REPENTANCE

    Repentance is another strong Bible word and doctrine that is being whittled away by the new English versions.  The word repentance and its related words (repent, repented, repenting) have been sliced from the modern English translations the following number of instances: American Standard Version (10 times), Contemporary English Version (106 times), English Standard Version (38 times), God’s Word (102 times),  Living Bible (60 times), New American Bible (26 times), New American Standard Bible (33 times), New Century Version (106 times), New International Version (32 times), New Jerusalem Bible (44 times), New King James Version (38 times), New Living Translation (58 times), New Revised Standard Version (34 times), Revised Standard Version (8 times), Today’s English Version (57 times)and Young’s Literal Translation (64 times).

SEXUAL SIN AND PERVERSION

    The modern English perversions of the Bible are soft on sexual sins.  The word “fornication” occurs in the King James Bible 44 times.  Fornication has a very strong connotation and refers to a very specific sin. Fornication is sex that is outside the bounds of marriage that God has established. Hence, an individual that commits adultery is also guilty of fornication.  Fornication is completely removed from the Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, God’s Word, International Standard Version, New Century Version, New International Version, New Living Translation, and Today’s English Version.  Fornication is removed from the New American Bible 41 times, the New American Standard Bible 40 times, the New Jerusalem Bible 32 times, the New King James Version 23 times, the New Revised Standard Version 14 times, the Revised Standard Version 29 times, and Young’s Literal Translation 33 times.  The new versions prefer a much weaker and more general term like immorality or sexual sin.  This could lead some to assume that some sexual contact is alright.  In fact, the Contemporary English Version sometimes prefers the term “terrible sexual sin”.  Does that mean that there are some sexual sins that are not terrible?  I think not!  The term “immorality” is a very general term that can refer to any sin including sexual sin.  The King James Bible never uses the word “immorality”.  The word “whoremongering” is completely removed from the American Standard Version, Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, God’s Word, International Standard Version, Living Bible, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New Jerusalem Bible, New King James Version, New Living Translation, New Revised Standard Version, Revised Standard Version, and Today’s English Version.  The words “whore”, “harlot”, and “whoredom” have been completely removed from the Contemporary English Version, God’s Word, International Standard Version, and New Century Version.  The King James Bible uses these terms at least 140 times.  Though not completely removed, these terms are removed in the  English Standard Version 59 times, Living Bible 130 times, New American Bible 75 times, New International Version 137 times, New Jerusalem Bible 76 times, New King James Version 52 times, New Living Translation 138 times, New Revised Standard Version 66 times, Revised Standard Version 48 times, and Today’s English Version 132 times.  The word “sodomite” occurs in the King James Bible 5 times. The word “sodomite” is completely removed from the Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, God’s Word, International Standard Version, New American Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New Living Translation, Revised Standard Version, and Today’s English Version.  It is taken away from the pages of the Living Bible four times, the New American Standard Bible four times, the New Jerusalem Bible four times, the New King James Version three times, the New Revised Standard Version three times, and Young’s Literal Translation three times. 

SALVATION AS A PROCESS OF WORKS AND ETERNAL INSECURITY

    The new versions make salvation a process.  The instantaneous act of salvation in the King James Bible becomes a works based process in the new versions. In 1 Peter 2:2, the American Standard Version, Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, New American Bible, New Century Version, New Revised Standard Version, and Today’s English Version people are pictured as growing into salvation. 1 Peter 2:2 (King James Bible) says: “2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:”. The King James Bible shows these people as already saved (newborn babes) and in need of being fed the word of God so that they may grow in Christ.  Process theology2 is the brainchild of “Cain University”.
   
Genesis 4:3-5 (King James Bible)
3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. 4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

The modern day advocates of process theology graduated with the highest honors from “Deny God The Glory University”. This fits very smoothly into the wickedly perverted Roman Catholic and Pentecostal (many call these Arminian) doctrines of salvation.  Acts 2:47 says: “47Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved”.  In Acts 2:47, the new versions use the phrase “were being saved” instead of the King James Bible phrase “be saved” (King James Bible indicating present possession and present position).  The phrase “were being saved” puts you in the process of being saved in the Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, International Standard Version, Jewish NT, Living Bible, New American Bible (Catholic), New American Standard Bible 95, New Century Version, New International Version, New King James Version, New Living Translation, New Revised Standard Version, Revised Standard Version, and Today’s English Version (Good News for Modern Men). The 1611 Authorized King James Version (King James Bible) says in Ephesians 2:5-9:

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Note in verses 5 and 8 that the King James Bible indicates that salvation is a present position and a present possession by using the phrases “by grace ye are saved” and “by grace are ye saved”.  Once again, the new versions have come as a thief in the night and have stolen your assurance of salvation and stolen the glory from the Lord Jesus Christ.  The thief has come along in the night and poked out the eyes of the unbeliever with the intellectually sharp and spiritually blinding new versions.  In doing so, they have snatched away the eternal light of the glorious gospel.  In the new versions, salvation is a past (passed) possession in Ephesians 2:5,8 rather than a present, continuing possession. The American Standard Version, English Standard Version, International Standard Version, Living Bible (less Ephesians 2:5), New American Bible, New American Standard Bible 95 (plus Romans 8:24), New Century Version, New International Version, New King James Version, New Living Translation (less Ephesians 2:8), New Revised Standard Version, Today’s English Version, and Young’s Literal Translation use the phrase “have been saved” rather than the King James Bible phrase “are saved”.  The spirit of fear (Romans 8:15) and uncertainty have taken possession of the new versions.   This spirit of fear and uncertainty is not of God the Father. Second Timothy 1:7 (King James Bible) says: “7For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”.  The new version editors and translators are trusting in themselves (their works) rather than God.  From hence cometh fear.  Isaiah 26:3 (King James Bible) says: “3Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee”.
    The New American Bible and New Revised Standard Version uses the phrase “is being renewed” in Colossians 3:10 rather than the King James Bible “is renewed”.  The renewal in perfect knowledge of Christ takes place instantly and permanently at salvation.  It is a cinch that if God would not (and will not) allow us to do anything to earn salvation, then he would not allow us to do anything to keep salvation.  Salvation is of the Lord (Jonah 2:9).  The staying power in salvation comes through the hands of the Lord Jesus Christ.  In ten of the new versions, salvation becomes a matter of obedience in John 3:36. John 3:36 (King James Bible) says: “36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him”.  Notice that in the King James Bible that everlasting life is based solely upon belief and not obedience (works).  In the American Standard Version, English Standard Version, International Standard Version, Living Bible, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New Living Translation, New Revised Standard Version, and Today’s English Version, salvation becomes a matter of obedience in John 3:36.

Note the use of the words obey(eth) and disobeys in the verses just quoted from these versions.  This makes salvation a condition of obedience and works.  Now if I were an unbelieving Roman Catholic who believed that I had to earn salvation, or an Arminian who believed I had to work to keep my salvation, I would probably latch right onto one of the versions that contain this verse because it would justify my false doctrine.  Salvation is always a present position and a present possession.  Romans 8:15 (King James Bible) says: “15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father”.   Hallelujah!  Abba!  He is my Father.  In salvation, we become sons and daughters of God through adoption into his family by the Lord Jesus Christ.  Salvation is completed in the Lord Jesus Christ; not in our works.  We are forever his.  Hallelujah!  However, if we sin, we brake fellowship with God, but  not relationship.  We are still sons and daughters.  The legal bond and rights in adoption are much stronger than that which comes through natural birth. However, there is a time of reckoning.  “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth...” (Hebrews 12:6).
    In many cases, the new English Bible perversions turn believeth in to obey, unbelief into disobedience, believed not into disobedient, and do not believe into disobedient. This turns faith and works upside down. This makes belief and unbelief a matter of works.    In the new English Bible versions you can never have assurance of salvation.   The new English Bible versions have an almost across-the-board agreement that you “are being saved”. This is a very Roman Catholic idea. The Roman Catholics maintain that you can never be sure this side of eternity whether or not you are saved. Those who hold an Arminian (you can lose your salvation) view of salvation are either working to get salvation or working to keep salvation. So these particular translations fit into both their doctrinal biases.  The phrase “are being saved” occurs in 1 Corinthians 1:18 and 2 Corinthians 2:15 in the Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, International Standard Version, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New Jerusalem Bible (subtracts 1 Corinthians 1:18 and adds Philippians 1:28), New King James Version, New Living Translation, New Revised Standard Version, The New Testament Expanded Edition, and Revised Standard Version.  To this list the Contemporary English Version adds Hebrews 6:9, the English Standard Version adds 1 Corinthians 15:2, the New American Standard Bible adds Luke 13:23, the New Century Version adds 1 Corinthians 15:2, the New Living Translation adds Romans 11:5, and the New Revised Standard Version adds 1 Corinthians 15:2.    The scriptures as quoted from the 1611 Authorized King James Bible are as follows:

    In the King James Bible, salvation is always a present possession.    In the King James Bible, passages of Scripture dealing with eternal salvation as an accomplished fact are always in the present tense; salvation is never a past possession  or a future possession. It is always a current event.  The King James Bible says that people ARE saved.  In the American Standard Version, English Standard Version, International Standard Version, Living Bible, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New Revised Standard Version, and Today’s English Version salvation is based upon obedience in John 3:36.    God’s mercy is based upon acts of obedience or disobedience rather than being based upon faith in Romans 11:32 in the American Standard Version, Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, International Standard Version, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New King James Version, New Living Translation, New Revised Standard Version, and Today’s English Version.  In Hebrews 3:18 , Hebrews 4:6, and Hebrews 4:11, entering into the rest of the Lord – salvation – is based upon belief and not works.    A check of the American Standard Version, Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, International Standard Version, Living Bible, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New King James Version, New Living Translation, New Revised Standard Version, and Today’s English Version (GNB, the Good News Bible) reveals that this rest is based upon some form of obedience or disobedience. The Today’s English Version is inconsistent in its translation in Hebrews 4:6 and Hebrews 4:11 in that they state that the  rest is based upon some form of belief.   These scriptures as quoted from the 1611 Authorized King James Bible are as follows:

Notice the emphasis on belief in the King James Bible.  I cannot freely quote from the other English Bible versions for fear of copyright infringement.
    In that great prophetic passage concerning the two entries of the Lord Jesus Christ into Jerusalem in Zechariah 9:9-10, the Contemporary English Version, Living Bible, New Century Version, New Living Translation, New Revised Standard Version, Today’s English Version (Good News Bible), and Young’s Literal Translation remove the reference in verse 9 to the Lord Jesus Christ having salvation.

OUR SERVANTS AND MINISTERS HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH SLAVES

    The new Bible versions have taken the servants and ministers out of our churches and put slaves in their place.  The word “slave” is generally used in the new versions to replace the King James Bible words “servant” and “minister”.  The new versions replaced your servants and ministers with slaves as follows: Contemporary English Version (83 times), English Standard Version(44 times), God’s Word (66 times), International Standard Version (58 times), Living Bible (85 times), The Message (46 times), New American Bible (80 times), New American Standard Bible (115 times), New Century Version (67 times), New International Version (57 times), New Jerusalem Bible (59 times), New King James Version (30 times), New Living Translation (83 times), New Revised Standard Version (135 times), and Today’s English Version (93).  Among many other things, this is an attack upon the free will of man.  It makes God an unloving and uncompassionate despot.  Sons and daughters of God are not slaves, but rather joint heirs with Christ.  The new versions have replaced willing servants with robots with bad breath who speak with the enticing words of man.  There is a huge amount of difference in the connotation of the words “slave”, “minister”, and “servant”.  “Slave” and “slavery” are almost never used in a positive sense.  People that are slaves, or in slavery, are mostly compelled to do what they do.  However, those that minister or serve generally do so out of acts of love, compassion, or to serve themselves.  They do what they do because they want to (voluntarily).  The only slaves in God’s eyes are those lost and in bondage (slavery) to their sin.  Christians are no longer in bondage.  They have been redeemed.  They have been liberated.  The Bible says:

THE PRIESTS HAVE HAULED OFF OUR PASTORS AND MINISTERS

    The new versions have taken away our pastors and ministers and given us priests in Romans 15:16.  I wonder where that came from?! In Romans 15:16, the word “priest” is substituted for the King James Bible word “minister” by the Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, International Standard Version, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible 95, New International Version, New Revised Standard Version, Today’s English Version (GNB), and the Young’s Literal Translation.  In the King James Bible, Romans 15:16 says: “16That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost”.  Christ is our high priest and intercessor (Hebrews chapters 7-10).  For those of you who do not get it, there are NO NEW TESTAMENT PRIESTS.  We have no need of  wicked, earthly priests that administer the continual sacrifices and sacraments of the Babylonian mysteries (Revelation 17:5). 

FASTING AND PRAYER

    Fasting and prayer is one of the spiritual weapons that God has given us in our arsenal for defending the faith.  There are seven verses in the New Testament that deal with fasting and prayer.  These verses are Matthew 17:21, Mark 9:29, Luke 2:37, Luke 5:33, Acts 13:3, Acts 14:23, and 1 Corinthians 7:5.   As quoted from the King James Bible these seven verses say:

33 And they said unto him, Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink?

Acts 13:3 (King James Bible)
3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

Acts 14:23 (King James Bible)
23 And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

1 Corinthians 7:5 (King James Bible)
5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

    The first two instances of fasting and prayer mentioned in Matthew 17:21 and Mark 9:29 deal with casting devils out.  Fasting and prayer are mentioned in these two instances in connection with a lack of faith on the part of the disciples.  These scriptures are a warning to Christians that certain things will not happen without both fasting and prayer.  It is obvious from the context that fasting and prayer increase faith.  The next instance of fasting and prayer in Luke 2:37 involved the prophetess Anna being allowed to proclaim him [the Lord Jesus Christ] to all that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.  It is obvious from the context that fasting and prayer were necessary for Anna to be able to prophecy as she did unto those at Jerusalem.  The next reference to fasting and prayer in Luke 5:33 is used to teach us that we do not have to fast when we are in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.  From this, we should also learn that there are times when we will have to fast and pray to get into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Sometimes we must pray and fast when we seek his face.  In Acts 13:33, we see that fasting and prayer ought to be a part of sending forth missionaries.  These are endeavors for the salvation of souls that ultimately result in the casting out of the devil when individuals come to salvation.  In Acts 14:23 fasting and prayer are used in connection with ordaining leaders in the churches.  This should serve as an example to us today that we should not lightly lay hands on any man that we would call to a leadership role in the church.  Fasting and prayer are obviously necessary to determine what the will of the Lord is in the selection of church leaders.  First Corinthians 7:5 is used to teach us that there are times when it is necessary that husbands and wives temporarily separate from the marriage bed for the purpose of fasting and prayer.  So, we see that fasting and prayer are a necessary weapon in our arsenal for spiritual warfare.  There is a big difference in not eating or going without food and fasting.  Someone could go without food for any number of reasons.  Fasting is doing without food for a specific spiritual purpose.  Fasting is the God ordained method for Christians to deny the flesh that the spirit might profit thereby.
    The doctrine of fasting and prayer is under attack in the new versions.  Matthew 17:21 is ejected from the Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, God’s Word, The Message, New American Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New Jerusalem Bible, New Living Translation, New Revised Standard Version, Revised Standard Version, and Today’s English Version (GNB).  The New American Standard Bible brackets Matthew 17:21.   Fasting is gone from Mark 9:29 in the American Standard Version, Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, Living Bible, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New Living Translation, New Revised Standard Version, and the Today’s English Version.  The Contemporary English Version has removed “fasting” and inserted “without eating” into Luke 2:37, Luke 5:33, Acts 13:3, and Acts 14:23.  The New Century Version has inserted going without food into Luke 2:37 and without eating into Luke 5:33.  The translators have removed the word “fasting” from the pages of the American Standard Version, Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, God’s Word, International Standard Version, Living Bible, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New Jerusalem Bible, New Living Translation, New Revised Standard Version, Revised Standard Version, and the Today’s English Version in 1 Corinthians 7:5.  The owners of the new versions have been issued swords with broken tips and dull edges.

THE NEW VERSION CUTTING BOARDS

    Acts 8:37, Mark 16:9-20, John 7:53-8:11, and 1 John 5:7 have all been placed on the cutting boards of the new version’s cooks.    A quick look at Acts 8:37 will show why it has gone to the cutting rooms of the new versions.

Acts 8:36-37 (King James Bible)36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Acts 8:37 makes belief a condition for baptism; out goes baptismal regeneration.  Acts 8:37 has been entirely removed from the Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, International Standard Version, The Message, New American Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New Jerusalem Bible, New Living Translation, New Revised Standard Version, Revised Standard Version, and Today’s English Version.
    Mark 16:9-20  forms another witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.  If you did not believe in the physical resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, that might well give you the motivation to cut these verses out.  Many early Gnostic heretics did not believe in the physical resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ; nor do many modern Bible translators such as Westcott and Hort. Mark 16:9-20 has either ben bracketed (set off from the rest of the text) or had an unbelieving note placed in the margin, or both, in the Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, Living Bible, The Message, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New King James Version, New Living Translation, New Revised Standard Version, and Today’s English Version.

In his book “The Last Twelve Verses Of Mark”, Dean John William Burgon totally destroyed the cutting room theories of Satan’s scribes concerning Mark 16:9-20. 
    John 7:53-8:11 has either ben bracketed (set off from the rest of the text) or had an unbelieving note placed in the margin, or both, in the Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, International Standard Version, Living Bible, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New King James Version, New Living Translation, New Revised Standard Version, and Today’s English Version.  There has been much material written on John 7:53-8:11.

Dean Burgon in his book “The Causes of Corruption of the Traditional Text” totally destroyed the idea that the twelve verses in question did not belong in our Bibles.  This particular text was read from the lectionary of the church on October 8th of every year.  There are 2,143 lectionaries around that contain this text.  Edward F. Hills in quoting Dean Burgon noted the following:

“Moreover, although the Greek fathers were silent about the prayer called the pericope de adultera,  the church was not silent.  This is shown by the fact that John 8:3–11 was chosen as the lesson to read publicly each year own St. Pelagia’s Day, October 8.  Burgon points out the significance of this historical circumstance.  “The great Eastern Church speaks out on the subject in a voice of thunder.  In all her Patriarchates, as far back as a written records of her practice reach, – and they reach back to the time of those very fathers who silence was felt to be embarrassing -- the Eastern church has selected nine out of the twelve verses to be the special lesson for October 8.”3

    What do the modern textual critics do with these facts?  They ignore them, of course.  Do not confuse us with facts.  Our minds are already made up.  None are so blind as those who will not see.
    First John 5:7 has come under the vilest attacks because it is the strongest text in the New Testament that supports the doctrine of the Trinity.  This verse is entirely left out of most modern English translations and then verses 6 and 7 are deceptively split to form a new verse 7 so that you will not notice that it has been removed from your Bibles.  The International Standard Version, New American Standard Bible, New Living Translation, and New Revised Standard Version place an unbelieving note in the margin also.  So that you can see the duplicity for yourselves I here quote 1 John 5:6-8 in every version I have available to me:

6 And Jesus Christ was revealed as God’s Son by his baptism in water and by shedding his blood on the cross—not by water only, but by water and blood.     Pay particular attention to verse 7 and compare it to the King James Bible reading.  There is overwhelming evidence to support the inclusion of this text in our Bibles.  Michael Maynard in his book “A History Of The Debate Over 1 John 5,7-8" documents a trail of manuscript evidence that goes all the way back to A.D. 168 for the support of this passage.  Maynard then proceeds to present over 300 pages of evidence supporting these verses. 
    A note in the Living Bible and the New American Standard Bible leads folks to believe that the number to avoid is 616 rather than 666.  Only two manuscripts contain this error (the corrupt uncial c and the corrupt cursive 11). In addition to the Living Bible and the New American Standard Bible, my research revealed that the English Standard Version, International Standard Version, New Living Bible, New American Bible, and the New Revised Standard Version also contained this treacherous error.

THE LIVING BIBLE TURNS THE LORD JESUS CHRIST INTO A BRAWLER

    The Living Bible commits another major blunder in Zechariah 13:6.  Zechariah 13:6 in the King James Bible says

Zechariah 13:6 in the Living Bible says:

6 “And if someone asks, ‘Then what are these scars on your chest and your back?’ he will say, ‘I got into a brawl at the home of a friend!’

The note on Zechariah 13:6 in the Living Bible says:

“these scars on your cheek and back.  Evidently self-inflicted cuts, as practiced by false prophets, see 1 Kings 18:28.  at the home of a friend, literally “[These are}] wounds I received in the house of my friends.”  Some think this refers to Christ; others believe this refers to a false prophet who is lying about the reasons for his scars.”

It is clear from the context that Zechariah 13:6 is a reference to the Lord Jesus Christ.  The Lord Jesus Christ did not receive his wounds from a “brawl” but from being crucified for the sins of the world.

    Let’s take a look at the New Testament allusions to, and the direct quotes of the Lord Jesus Christ, relevant to these verses and their context.  Notice the following verses:

31 Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

Mark 14:27 (King James Bible)
27 And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.

Luke 24:39-40 (King James Bible)
39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. 40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.

John 20:25-27 (King James Bible)
25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. 26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. 27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

    Zechariah 13:6 is not a reference to a false prophet as the Living Bible insinuates.  The Lord Jesus Christ did not receive his wounds in a brawl.  His wounds were the result of his crucifixion.

THE ONE

    The new versions also favor the phrase “the one”.  The phrase “the one” is really well liked by the new versions in 1 John 5:6-8 where it is used by the International Standard Version, New American Bible, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, New International Version, New Revised Standard Version, and Today’s English Version.
    The radical feminists will be in for a real shock when that male chauvinist Satan takes over through the antichrist for he will not regard the desire of women.  In every society where pagan religion dominates through the control of Satan, women are subjected to the vilest abuses.  They have no rights and are treated like property.  If you do not believe it, take a look at how women are treated in Islamic societies.  These Islamic societies are controlled by “the One” in the form of the idol moon god.  Allah, the pagan God of Islam, is referred to as “the One” on at least 21 different occasions in the Koran.  Allah is also referred to as “the One and Only”.  The Koran is way ahead in the race with the modern perversions of the Bible to corrupt the word of God.  They started almost 1,400 years ago.  The Koran is the syncretism, or synthesis,  of the pagan philosophy of the pagan moon God, Allah, the Jewish Old Testament scriptures (corrupted), and some of the Christian New Testament scriptures (corrupted). Do not lose sight of the fact that the Muslims (Islamists) are referred to as brothers in the Roman Catholic Catechism of 1994.  The Roman Catholics are at the forefront of the modern Bible societies that are corrupting the Christian scriptures.  Theirs (Romanism and Islam) would be a natural union since their common enemies are Christians and Jews.
    Most of the pagan religions of this world identify their God as “the One”.   “The One” is the God of the Buddhists and the God of the Hindus.  There you have it!  The four largest pagan religions in the world – Islam, Roman Catholicism, Buddhism, and Hinduism – are in unity with “the One”. All they need is a one world Bible, a one world church, a one world government, and a one world economic system and they can all gather in unity at the foot of the tower of Babel.  MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.  The harlots are the false religious systems of this world.
    While “the One” blurs the distinction between genders, he, Satan,  is ever busy trying to blur the distinction between himself and Jehovah God of the Bible.  Remember this false god is a number – ONE. Many Christians grab hold of the idea that the antichrist comes as being against God.  While it is true that he opposes God, his ultimate aim is to come instead of God to appear in the restored temple as God.  In this role, he is the false messiah (christ), the One that is to come in every pagan religion.  God makes a distinction between himself and this “false One”.  God refers to himself as the Holy One of Israel 53 different times in the Bible.  It is this one word “Holy” that distinguishes God, the Holy One of Israel, from the one, the false messiah of New Age paganism and the modern Bible versions.  God is the Holy One.  Satan is the wicked one.  The King James Bible never uses the phrase “the One” when referring to the Lord Jesus Christ while The Message uses it 54 times, the New American Standard Bible 16 times, the New Century Version 84 times, the New International Version 5 times, and the New King James Version 8 times.  This false messiah comes to usurp the throne of the Living God.  For documentation on the increase of the false christs (messiahs) in the new versions, see page 270 of this book.

SPECIFIC COMMENTS ABOUT SOME VERSIONS

    David Cloud in discussing the theological implications of a footnote in the 1901 American Standard Version made the following statement:

“A footnote in the 1901 American Standard Version at John 9:38 illustrates the perverted theology of its translators.  This verse says the blind man who was healed by the Lord Jesus Christ “worshiped him”.  The Bible plainly says that God and God alone is to be worshiped (Exodus 20:3–5).  Thus the fact that Christ received worship clearly proves that he is God.  Note the clever way the American revisers attempted to overthrow the teaching of this verse with their wicked footnote: “The Greek word denotes an act of reverence, whether paid to a creature (as here) or to the creator”.  I cite this from an edition of the 1901 American Standard Version which I have in my library.”4

David Cloud in discussing the Revised Standard Version had the following comment:

“Not only did the Revised Standard Version translators base their work up on the critical Greek text, they introduced many liberal readings of their own.  When Revised Standard Version was published, the chairman of the translation committee, Luther Weigle, stated that the use of THEE, THOU , and THINE had been restricted to the address of deity.  This was a testimony to the fact that the revisers did not believe Jesus Christ is God, because they never addressed him with these terms in their version.”5

    In discussing the footnotes and marginal notes of the American Standard Version Peter Ruckman wrote:

 “In the footnotes and marginal notes of the American Standard Version (1901) will be found the textual readings of the Revised Standard Version(1952)! Out of 5,788 departures from the Greek texts of the Receptus, that American Standard Version displays at least forty omissions which deal with the Virgin Birth, the Bodily Resurrection, the Deity of Christ, or the authority of Jesus Christ. among these, the student should study Matthew 19:19, 20:22,23:14, 28:17;Mark 6:11,9:24,13:14, 10:21,11:26;Luke 2:33, 4:4, 4:8,4:41, 23:38; John 1:14,1:27, 3:15,4:42, 9:35;Acts 1:3,8:37;etc., etc.”6

    In comparing the King James Version and the Inclusive Language New International Version in Psalm 34:20 Ian Paisley made the following observation:

King James Bible Psalm 34:20: “He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken”.  Inclusive language New International Version Psalm 34:20: “He protects all their bones, not one of them will be broken”.  This translation corrupts a key prophetic passage.  Psalm 34:20 refers to Christ and the fact that his bones were not broken on the cross.  John 19:32–36 was a direct fulfillment of Psalm 34:20.  The Inclusive Language New International Version changes the singular masculine pronoun “he has” to the plural pronoun “their”, thereby destroying its prophetic significance.7

    In comparing the reverent language of the Authorized Version to the irreverent language of the Living Bible Ian Paisley notes:

“Compare Saul’s attack on his son Jonathan in I Samuel 20:30 as it was first translated in the Living Bible, (so-called) “you son of a bitch” to the Authorized Version’s “son of the perverse rebellious woman”, which by the way is admitted in the most recent edition of the Living Bible as the literal rendering.  Further, compare the Living Bible translation of the Elijah’s mocking of the prophets of Baal and I Kings 18:27 “else he is sitting on the toilet” (this is both inaccurate and ugly) to the Authorized versions “he is pursuing”.  Moreover, it is what the original Hebrew says.8

    In discussing the attacks on the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ in the modern English versions of the Bible, Ian Paisley had this to say concerning the New English Bible:

The Authorized Version universally uses “thee” and “thou” whether these pronouns are used of God or of man.  If the translators of the new English Bible are going to be consistent they would use “you” and “yours” all through their translation.  For some reason they have retained “thee” and “thou” in the passages where God is referred to, and “you” and “ yours” elsewhere. For example, in the book of Revelation, chapter 11:17, God is addressed in the New English Bible thus: “we give the thanks, O Lord God, sovereign over all, who art and who wast, because thou hast taken thy great power into thy hands and entered upon thy reign”.  Notice the pronoun “thou” used concerning Deity.  Never however, in the Gospels in the New English Bible is “thee” or “thou” used of our Lord Jesus Christ.  They consistently reject the Deity of the son of God.  For example, in Matthew 16:16 the great confession of Peter in Caesarea-Philippi is changed to read: “You are the Messiah”.  Here again Christ to the New English Bible translators is just a man.  This distinction of pronouns is unwarranted and is a subtle act to separate Jesus Christ from God, an act which is an entire contradiction of the scriptures.9

Peter Ruckman identified the following major problems in the New English Bible:

1. Deity of Christ attacked in Romans 9:5;1 Timothy 3:16;1 Corinthians 15:47; Matthew 9:2; Matthew 2:11(note the removal of all “worship”in the last reference); Matthew 9:18,14:32–33; Mark 5:6; Matthew 20:20 (“worship” has been removed again – though it is in ALL Greek manuscripts).
2. The virgin birth of Christ is attacked in Luke 1:26–27, 2:33; Matthew 1:25.
3. The Sinlessness of Christ questioned in John 14:30; 2 Corinthians 5:21(note the wording).
4. The Blood Atonement is denied in 1 John 2:2 and 1 John 4:10 (note substitution of “remedy” for “propitiation”), 1 Peter 4:1.
5.  Resurrection and Ascension questioned in Luke 24:3, 6, 12, 51–52 (see these “Western omissions”under note E, Chapter Seven”.
6.  A return to the corrupt American Standard Version of 1901 by mistranslating 2 Timothy 3:16 and placing the verb in the wrong place.  (They placed it in the right place in Romans 7:12; 1 Corinthians 11:30; 2 Corinthians 10:10; and 1 Timothy 1:15, but they had a little “neutral trouble” in approaching 2 Timothy 3:16 “neutrally”).
7. The miracle at Calvary was an eclipse (Luke 23:44) which the Naval Observatory has never been able to locate!
8. The Roman reading of the Douay Version is found in Matthew 16:18 and in John 1:42.
9. The director of the translating committee is C.H. Dodd. He is about as conservative as Elvis Presley.” 10

Edward F. Hills in a brief evaluation of the NEB and the Revised Standard Version stated:

The modernism of the R.S.V. and the N.E.B. appears everywhere in them. For example, both of them profess to use thou when referring to God and you when referring to men. Yet the disciples are made to use you when speaking to Jesus, implying, evidently, that they did not believe that He was divine. Even when they confess Him to be the Son of God, the disciples are still made to use you. You are the Christ, Peter is made to say, the Son of the living God (Matt.16:16). In both the R.S.V. and the N.E.B. opposition to the virgin birth of Christ is plainly evident. Thus the N.E.B. calls Mary a girl (Luke 1:27) rather than a virgin, and at Matt. 1:16 the N.E.B. and some editions of the R.S.V. include in a footnote a reading found only in the Sinaitic Syriac manuscript which states that Joseph was the father of Jesus.

The N.E.B. exhibits all too plainly a special hostility to the deity of Christ. This is seen in the way in which the Greek word proskyneo is translated. When it is applied to God, the N.E.B. always translates it worship, but when it is applied to Jesus, the N.E.B. persistently translates it pay homage or bow low. Thus the translators refuse to admit that Jesus was worshipped by the early Church. Even the Old Testament quotation, Let all the angels of God worship Him (Heb.1:6), is rendered by the N.E.B., Let all the angels of God pay him homage. The only passage in which proskyneo is translated worship when applied to Jesus is in Luke 24:52. But here this clause is placed in a footnote as a late variant reading. By using the word worship here these modernistic translators give expression to their belief that the worship of Jesus was a late development which took place in the Church only after the true New Testament text had been written.11

The NEB is the New English Bible. The RSV is the Revised Standard Version.
    Jack Moorman’s in depth collation of the New American Standard Bible, New International Version, New Revised Standard Version, and Revised Standard Version reveled the following:

The Name “Jesus” is frequently disassociated from the titles “Lord” and “Christ.” Whereas in the AV we will read “Jesus Christ” or the “Lord Jesus Christ,” in the Modern Versions “Jesus” is often made to stand alone or not at all. ln fact, our Savior’s full title “Lord Jesus Christ” is found 84 times in 81 verses in the AV and only 60 times in 60 verses in the New International Version, 62 times in 62 verses in the New Revised Standard Version, and 63 times in 63 verses in the Revised Standard Version. A noticeable difference is clearly apparent! 12

    Jack Moorman documents the following names of Christ as being missing in the New American Standard Version (New American Standard Bible) and the New International Version:11

    The New American Standard Bible (NASB, New American Standard Version) alters the King James Bible text in over 36,000 places. The New American Standard Bible also refers to the Lord Jesus Christ as an “only begotten God” in John 1:18.   The New American Standard Bible omits the word “Son” in John 1:18 which denies the eternality of the Lord Jesus Christ by making him a “begotten God”.  This want, or habit, of breaking apart the names and titles of the Lord Jesus Christ is connected to an ancient heresy called adoptionism.  It also has Gnosticism as its bedfellow.  Gnosticism is a system of worshipping and exalting man’s knowledge.  Jack Moorman says of this heresy:

    “This separation of “Jesus” from “Christ” occurs far too often to look for any cause other than deliberate editing in certain N.T. manuscripts. That there was a strong movement in the early centuries which could result in such a systematic editing, there can be no doubt! The foremost error regarding the Person of Christ, is of course, to deny His true Deity and true Humanity. The chief means by which this was done, and which finds expression down to our own day, is technically known as “Adoptionism” or “Spirit Christology.” The heresy follows this line of reasoning: Jesus of Nazareth, an ordinary man of unusual virtue, was “adopted” by God into divine Sonship by the advent of the “Christ-Spirit” at His baptism. Therefore, Jesus became Christ at His baptism, rather than, the fact that He was always the Christ from eternity. And though united for a time, Jesus and Christ were separate personages. Many names and groups are associated with this wicked teaching, foremost of whom were the Gnostics...This terrible heresy has found expression in a number of ways down through the centuries, and it has been given a new lease on life through the Modern Versions. This then is the Dark Secret!”14

    Jack Moorman also identifies an additional 169 passages where words and whole phrases are missing from the New International Version, most other modern English translations, and most foreign language translations.15  This is because they are missing in the Greek text upon which these versions are based.  Many “fundamental” pastors, evangelists, and preachers think that the New International Version is the product of so-called “conservative” scholarship.  For those of you who may think that the New International Version is not so bad, please consider the following information put forth by Grady:

“In his book, God Wrote Only One Bible, Jasper Ray compared 45 Bible versions against 162 test scriptures to determine how many times a departure from the Textus Receptus had occurred. The results of his study were enlightening. Whereas the Douay Version (Catholic) show changes in 75 of these verses; The Living New Testament, 114; the Revised Version, 135; the American Standard Version, 135; Good News for Modern Man, 145; and the Jehovah Witnesses’ New World translation, 145, – the New International Version (success story of Wall Street) was declared guilty in 160 out of a possible 162 verses for a 98.7% departure factor!16  

“The following whole verses have been omitted from the New International Version text: Matthew 17:21, 18:11, 23:14, Mark 7:16, 9:44, 9:46, 11:26, 15:28, Luke 17:36, 23:17, John 5:4, Acts 8:37, 15:34, 24:7, 28:29, Romans 16:24, 1 John 5:7.    The New International Version has taken away at least part of the following 147 versus: Matthew 5:44; 6:13; 15:6, 8; 19:9; 20:7, 16, 22, 23; 25:13; 27:35; 28:9; Mark 1:42; 6:11, 33; 7:8; 8:26; 9:38, 45, 49; 10:21, 24; 11:8, 10, 23; 12:23, 29, 30, 33; 13:14; 14:19, 27, 68, 70; Luke 1:28; 4:4, 8, 18; 5:38; 7:31; 8:43, 45, 48, 54; 9:54, 55, 56; 11:2, 4, 11, 44, 54; 17:9; 18:24; 19:45; 20:23, 30; 22:64, 68; 23:23, 38; 24:1, 42; John 1:27; 3:13, 15; 5:3, 16; 6:11, 22, 47; 8:9, 10, 59; 10:26; 11:41; 12:1; 16:16; 17:12; 19:16; Acts 2:30; 7:37; 9:5, 6; 10:6, 21, 32; 13:42; 15:18, 24; 18:21; 20:15; 21:8, 22, 25; 23:9; 24:6, 8, 26; 26:30; 28:16; Romans 8:1; 9:28; 10:15; 11:6; 13:9; 14:6, 21; 15:24; 1 Corinthians 6:20; 10:28; 11:24; Galatians 3:1; Ephesians 3:4; 5:30; Philippians 3:16; Colossians 1:2, 14; 3:6; 1 Thessalonians 1:1; 1 Timothy 3:3; 6:5, 7; Hebrews 2:7; 3:6; 7:21; 8:12; 10:30; 11:11, 13; 12:20; 1 Peter 4:14; 1 John 4:3; 5:13; Revelation 1:8, 11; 5:14; 11:1, 17; 14:5; 15:2; 21:24.”17   

    “The New International Version has 64,098 less words than the King James Bible.”

    “In Exodus 3:14, the New International Version changes “”I AM THAT AM” to “I AM WHO I AM”.”19        
                                                                              
    “The New International Version changes the word science to knowledge in 1 Timothy 6:20, deleting the Bible’s only clear warning against false science.”20      
    “The New International Version makes a big blunder in Mark 1:2 when they replace the King James Bible word “prophets” with the New International Version phrase “Isaiah the prophet”.  Verse 2 does not contain a quote from Isaiah. The quote is from Malachi 3:1 with Mark 1:3 being quoted from Isaiah 40:3. Thus the King James Bible rendering “prophets” is correct.”21 

“The New International Version altered the most important reference to Bible preservation by changing the King James Bible phrase “thou shall keep them” to you will keep us safe”.  The King James Bible phrase “thou shalt keep them” refers to God’s words; not to God’s people.”22  
   
    “The New International Version altered the meaning of Psalm 138:2 by changing the King James Bible reading from “thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name” to, “for you have exalted above all things your name and your word”.”23
   
The New International Version and other perversions have mounted a major attack upon the deity, eternality, and name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  The “name which is above every name” is removed in the following passages:
   
“Matthew 8:29; 13:36; 15:30; 16:20; 17:11, 20; 18:2; 24:2; Mark 5:13; 6:34; 11:14; Luke 7:22; John 4:16, 46; 8:20; Acts 3:36; 9:29; 19:10; Romans 1:16; 15:8; 16:18; 1 Corinthians 5:5; 16:22; 2 Corinthians 4:6; 5:18; Galatians 6:15; Ephesians 3:9, 14; Colossians 1:2, 28; 2 Timothy 4:22; Philemon 6 and 1Peter 5:10, 14.”24
   
    The New International Version attacks the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ in John 9:35 when they changed the King James Version reading from “dost thou believe on the son of God” to “do you believe in the son of man”.25

    One of the most serious blunders of the New International Version was changing the King James Bible rendering of 1 Timothy 3:16 from “God was manifest in the flesh” to “He appeared in body”.26  The question we would ask is, who is he. The New International Version denied that he eternality of Christ when they changed Micah 5:2 from the King James Bible reading.  The King James Bible reads: “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.”  The New International Version reads:  “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”27 
 
The key word in the New International Version is “origins” which leaves the impression that the Lord Jesus Christ had a beginning, or an origin.  The Lord Jesus Christ has no beginning and no end.  The New International Version makes the Lord Jesus Christ a sinner by omitting the King James Bible phrase “without a cause” from Matthew 5:22.28

    The New International Version also removed hell from 40 out of the 53 places that it is found in the King James Version.29

“The New International Version, in its determination to do away with words that might not be easily understood by modern readers, has changed one final word from the generally accepted translations of that word to one that fits in well with modern thought. For centuries sheol has meant either the physical grave (or death), or ‘hell’ as the abode of the dead. The New International Version clings to that first meaning, but never translates sheol as hell. Thus, “The wicked shall be turned into hell” is changed to “The wicked return to the grave” (Psalm 9.17). God’s omnipresence comes into doubt when “if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there” becomes “if I make my bed in the depths” (Psalm 139.8). His omniscience is limited when His perfection as high as heaven, “deeper than hell” becomes “deeper than the depths of the grave” (Job 11.7-8).
Probably the worst effect of limiting sheol to the grave is the heresy the idea supports. In recent years not only liberals but also those who would consider themselves conservatives have accepted the belief that hell does not exist, that at death is the grave (in which the soul is not conscious of pleasure or pain but merely sleeps) and then either eternal reward or annihilation. The belief has become so prevalent (and is so inviting –  every Christian knows at least one person who has gone to a Christless grave), that even John Stott has voiced doubt regarding the historical Christian view of eternity. The New International Version does nothing to direct its readers –  saved and unsaved –  to a correct understanding of eternity for the unsaved. In the New International Version, even Lucifer, son of the morning, has been denied eternal punishment. No longer will he “be brought down to hell,” but instead will be “brought down to the grave” (Isaiah 14.15), to be with wicked Capernaum in “the depths” (Matthew 11.23) as long as the depths and grave shall last.” 30

    The changes in the New International Version have not only been radical changes that take away from the doctrines of the Bible, but those changes have been huge in number.  “The OLD New International Version has changed and altered the Hebrew and Greek words in over 6,653 places according to D.A. Waite’s study.31  The new editions of the New International Version continue the changes at an unabated pace even seeking to be politically correct. 
    The New International Version Inclusive Language Edition is one of several recent “Bibles” that have gone to gender neutral language.  Some of these changes actually change Bible prophecy in the interest of being politically correct.  When translating the Bible, it is not a question of what I want it to say, but rather a question of what does the text say.  The Bible is most definitely NOT politically correct in its language.  The Bible must not be made to conform to a feminist agenda.  When we blur the line between genders, we blur the line of authority that God has established in both the home and in the church.  When we blur the line between gender, we blur the line between heterosexuality and homosexuality.  When we blur the line between gender, we have people like the lesbian Virginia Mollenkott referring to God as “she”.  Satan’s agenda is to get enough radical feminists and homosexuals agitating for God to be called “she” that they can force a compromise in the middle that leads to God being called “THE ONE”(the Luciferian god of the pagans).  In evaluating the general character of the changes in the New International Version Inclusive Language Edition, D.A. Waite cited 136 examples of gender neutral language.  These 136 examples are but a tiny portion of the changes that have been made in this perversion.  This feminist manifesto changes “man” to “human beings” in Genesis 1:26; changes “Adam” to “human beings” in Genesis 5:2;  changes “men of war” to “soldiers” in Numbers 32:28; alters “craftsmen” to “skilled workers” in 2 Kings 24:14; alters “men” to “those” [It still does not change the fact that it was men who were performing this ministry in the Temple]; changes “his” to ‘their” in Psalms 34:20 [this destroys the prophetic reference to the Lord Jesus Christ in Psalm 34:20]; alters “man” to “one” in John 5:5; changes “man” to “child” in John 7:22 [This change is outrageously ridiculous when you consider that circumcision is only for men.  This change might help the covenant theologians who try to equate baptism in the New Testament to circumcision in the Old Testament!); changes “man” to “person” in John 18:14 [This deletes the specific prophecy of the coming sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ for all men.].32  Consider this statement from THE BIBLE:

1 Timothy 2:5 (King James Bible)
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Now consider this perversion of the words of scripture:

1 Timothy 2:5 (NI-VILE)
For there is one God and one mediator between God and human beings, the Christ Jesus, himself human.

Notice how cleverly the New International Version Inclusive Language Edition dropped the word “man’ and chopped the sentence up so much that it sounds worse than a car without a muffler running on four or five cylinders.  What an abomination!.  Waite goes on to document 32 instances where the King James Bible word “brethren” is changed to “brothers and sisters”.33 Even the liberal Southern Baptists balked at this perversion.  They would rather walk with their little demon, the New International Version, because it gives them some spiritually blind claim to being “conservative” and “fundamental”.  D. A. Waite quotes Dr. Gruden, an advocate of the “OLD New International Version”, as saying:

“For example, the generic use of ‘he-him-his’ has consistently been changed to ‘we’ or ‘you’ or ‘they’.  The result is that whenever readers of this inclusive language New International Version read the words ‘we’ and ‘you’ and ‘they’, they will never know whether what they are reading is what God originally cause his Word to say, or what the translators have decided what his Word should say instead.  In hundreds and probably thousands of places, readers will never know whether these are the words of God or the words of man. “Such revisions are not the words God originally caused to be written, and thus they are not the words of God.  They are human words that men have substituted for the words of God, and they have no place in the Bible. [World, April 19, 1997 p. 18] 34

What hypocrisy and yet, what truth!!  The very same charges can be laid to the old New International Version.  The underlined bold emphasis in the above quote was that of brother Waite.
    The language of the New International Version in certain places , like its rival The Living Bible, leaves a lot to be desired and can plant unclean thoughts in the minds of Christians.  Observe the following quote:

“The daily newspaper is full of accounts of the sins of men, and often people (even Christians) will read lengthy articles looking for a few more details of what happened. This is understandable with the unsaved man; his natural tendency is to progress further into sin, and the more decadent the better. The Christian, however, is admonished to be transformed by the renewing of the mind, a transformation accomplished by the Holy Spirit through the Word of God. The original writers sought to aid in this. Rather than detailing the sins of men, they spoke of men’s sins euphemistically. In Judges 19, the old man of Gibeah who invited the Levite into the protection of his home was ordered by the wicked of the city to “Bring forth the man ... that we may know him” (v22). When the Levite’s concubine (a term in itself that could, and today usually is, put in more explicit words) was instead put out of the house, she was “abused” (v25) until she died. Ezekiel 23.20 is more specific, but the Hebrew still speaks of “the flesh of asses” and the “issue” (literally “scattering seed”, whether in begetting children or planting crops) of horses rather than using more vivid terminology. Most translations follow the original authors by either translating literally or using euphemisms which express the idea of what happened without putting impure thoughts or pictures into the minds of readers, and without contributing to man’s tendency toward sin.
The New International Version, however, uses detailed language –  language inappropriate for this paper and certainly out of place in a Book whose Author desires the transforming of the mind to His standards. It is doubtful that the descriptive language used in the New International Version, particularly that mentioned above, would be used in family publications. It could certainly not be read to a child, and would only cause the mind of an unbeliever to stray away from the message of the scriptures. Modernising the Bible is one thing; vulgarising it is uncalled for.”35 

    Do not be deceived.  Just because a Bible has the letters KJV or the words King James Version in its title does not necessarily mean they are King James Bibles.    If it is not a 1611 Authorized King James Version,  it is not a King James Bible.    Take a look at the Bibles mentioned in this paragraph.  Many have the name King James Bible in their titles, but they are NOT 1611 Authorized King James Versions.  The New Scofield Reference Bible (NSRB) claims to use the King James text, but it is NOT.  The KJV-ER also is NOT a King James Bible!
    The As Good As New Version is probably the most perverted and wicked English translation to date. I quote David Cloud from the Friday Church News Notes for August 27, 2004:
  
“Dr. Rowan Williams, the Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury, has come out in strong support of a new Bible translation that encourages fornication. The “As Good as New” version of 1 Corinthians 7:1-2, 8-9 says: “Some of you think the best way to cope with sex is for men and women to keep right away from each other. That is more likely to lead to sexual offences. My advice is for everyone to have a regular partner. ... There’s nothing wrong with remaining single, like me. But if you know you have strong needs, get yourself a partner. Better than being frustrated.” Thus, this Bible says that what the world really needs are more regular sexual partners. This version replaces demon possession with mental illness, calls the apostle Peter “Rocky,” changes “Son of Man” to “the Complete Person,” and otherwise boldly perverts the Word of God. “As Good As New” is advertised as “women, gay, and sinner friendly.”

God have mercy!  What kind of perverted trash will they publish as a “Bible” next?  The Holy Bible says in 1 Corinthians 7:1-2,8-9:

1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. 2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. 9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.   

FRANK LOGSDON'S REPUDIATION OF HIS SUPPORT FOR THE NASB

What is to follow is an extensive quote from one of the organizers of the New American Standard Bible.  His name was Frank Logsdon.  Frank Logsdon was a pastor and very good Bible teacher who was overtaken by the deceit of new version advocates and his lack of knowledge in the area of Bible texts.  Logsdon was taken in because he took some things for granted.  The following lengthy quote expresses Logsdon’s sincere regrets and repentance at having been involved in the translation project for the New American Standard Version (New American Standard Bible).  Logsdon said:

    THE NEW AMERICAN STANDARD VERSION

    Back in 1956-57 Mr. F. Dewey Lockman of the Lockman Foundation [contacted me. He was] one of the dearest friends we’ve ever had for 25 years, a big man, some 300 pounds, snow white hair, one of the most terrific businessmen I have ever met. I always said he was like Nehemiah; he was building a wall. You couldn’t get in his way when he had his mind on something; he went right to it; he couldn’t be daunted. I never saw anything like it; most unusual man. I spent weeks and weeks and weeks in their home, real close friends of the family.
    Well, he discovered that the copyright [on the American Standard Version of 1901] was just as loose as a fumbled ball on a football field. Nobody wanted it. The publishers didn’t want it. It didn’t get anywhere. Mr. Lockman got in touch with me and said, “Would you and Ann come out and spend some weeks with us, and we’ll work on a feasibility report; I can pick up the copyright to the 1901 if it seems advisable.”
    Well, up to that time I thought the Westcott and Hort was the text. You were intelligent if you believed the Westcott and Hort. Some of the finest people in the world believe in that Greek text, the finest leaders that we have today. You’d be surprised; if I told you, you wouldn’t believe it. They haven’t gone into it just as I hadn’t gone into it; [they’re] just taking it for granted.
    At any rate we went out and started on a feasibility report, and I encouraged him to go ahead with it. I’m afraid I’m in trouble with the Lord, because I encouraged him to go ahead with it. We laid the groundwork; I wrote the format; I helped to interview some of the translators; I sat with the translators; I wrote the preface. When you see the preface to the New American Standard, those are my words.
    I got one of the fifty deluxe copies which were printed; mine was number seven, with a light blue cover. But it was rather big and I couldn’t carry it with me, and I never really looked at it. I just took for granted that it was done as we started it, you know, until some of my friends across the country began to learn that I had some part in it and they started saying, “What about this; what about that?”
    Dr. David Otis Fuller in Grand Rapids [Michigan]. I’ve known him for 35 years, and he would say (he would call me Frank; I’d call him Duke), “Frank, what about this? You had a part in it; what about this; what about that?” And at first I thought, Now, wait a minute; let’s don’t go overboard; let’s don’t be too critical. You know how you justify yourself the last minute.
    But I finally got to the place where I said, “Ann, I’m in trouble; I can’t refute these arguments; it’s wrong; it’s terribly wrong; it’s frightfully wrong; and what am I going to do about it?” Well, I went through some real soul searching for about four months, and I sat down and wrote one of the most difficult letters of my life, I think.
    I wrote to my friend Dewey, and I said, “Dewey, I don’t want to add to your problems,” (he had lost his wife some three years before; I was there for the funeral; also a doctor had made a mistake in operating on a cataract and he had lost the sight of one eye and had to have an operation on the other one; he had a slight heart attack; had sugar diabetes; a man seventy- four years of age) “but I can no longer ignore these criticisms I am hearing and I can’t refute them. The only thing I can do--and dear Brother, I haven’t a thing against you and I can witness at the judgment of Christ and before men wherever I go that you were 100% sincere,” (he wasn’t schooled in language or anything; he was just a business man; he did it for money; he did it conscientiously; he wanted it absolutely right and he thought it was right; I guess nobody pointed out some of these things to him) “I must under God renounce every attachment to the New American Standard.”
    I have a copy of the letter. I have his letter. I’ve shown it to some people. The Roberts saw it; Mike saw it. He stated that he was bowled over; he was shocked beyond words. He said that was putting it mildly, but he said, “I will write you in three weeks, and I still love you. To me you’re going to be Franklin, my friend, throughout the course.” And he said, “I’ll write you in three weeks.”
    But he won’t write me now. He was to be married. He sent an invitation to come to the reception. Standing in the courtroom, in the county court by the desk, the clerk said, “What is your full name, Sir?” And he said, “Franklin Dewey...” And that is the last word he spoke on this earth. So he was buried two days before he was supposed to be married, and he’s with the Lord. And he loves the Lord. He knows different now.
    I tell you, dear people, somebody is going to have to stand. If you must stand against everyone else, stand. Don’t get obnoxious; don’t argue. There’s no sense in arguing.
    But nevertheless, that’s where the New American stands in connection with the Authorized Version.
    I just jotted down what these versions, translations, and paraphrases are doing. Consider:
    One, they cause widespread confusion, because everywhere we go people say, What do you think of this; what do you think of that? What do young people think when they hear all of that?
    Two, they discourage memorization. Who’s going to memorize when each one has a different Bible, a different translation?
    Three, they obviate the use of a concordance. Where are you going to find a concordance for the Good News for Modern Man and all these others? You aren’t going to find one. We’re going to have a concordance for every one; you’re going to have to have a lot of concordances.
    Four, they provide opportunity for perverting the truth. There are all these translations and versions, each one trying to get a little different slant from the others. They must make it different, because if it isn’t different why have a new version? It makes a marvelous opportunity for the devil to slip in his perverting influence.
    Five, these many translations make teaching of the Bible difficult. And I’m finding that more and more as I go around the country. I mentioned this thing the other night. How could a mathematics professor or instructor teach a certain problem in a class if the class had six or eight different textbooks? How about that? How could you do it?
    Six, they elicit profitless argumentation. Because everywhere we go they say this one is more accurate. Which one is more accurate? How do they know? And this is not a reflection against those saying this, because I would have done this a few years ago.
    Lest I forget, in one of these questions somebody said, “How can we know that we have the whole truth?” Well, just simply by believing God. And what do I mean by that? John 16:13--“When he the Spirit of Truth is come he will guide you into” how much? Tell me. Tell me, now. “All truth.” And if we don’t have all truth, the Holy Spirit isn’t doing His work. We have to have all truth for Him to lead us into all truth. And there are many, many other passages which teach this.
    If we could hear His voice we would have no trouble learning His Word from the Authorized Version. Let me tell you this: You might not be able to answer the arguments, and you won’t be [able to]. I can’t answer some of them, either. Some of these university professors come along and say, What about this; what about that? They go into areas that I haven’t even had time to get into.
    As I said to you a couple of minutes ago. You don’t need to defend yourself, and you don’t need to defend God’s Word. Don’t defend it; you don’t need to defend it; you don’t need to apologize for it. Just say, “Well, did this version or this translation come down through the Roman stream? If so, count me out.  Whatever you say about Erasmus and Tyndale, that’s what I want.”
    And besides this, we’ve had the AV for 362 years. It’s been tested as no other piece of literature has ever been tested. Word by word; syllable by syllable. And think even until this moment no one has ever found any wrong doctrine in it, and that’s the main thing. He that wills to do the will of God shall KNOW the doctrine.”36

WHY DO GOOD MEN ERR ON THE BIBLE VERSION ISSUE?
   
    There you have an answer to the question of: “Why have many good men of God erred on the issue of Bible versions”.  They were led astray by men that they trusted.  They had not studied the issue for themselves.  My greatest fear is that pastors, preachers, and Bible teachers will not thoroughly study the issue for themselves.  I am convinced that if saved men and women will thoroughly study the issue for themselves that most would reject every English version of the Bible other than the 1611 Authorized King James Version.  The problem for many pastors, preachers, and teachers is that they let the smoke of intellectual pride blind their eyes of spiritual discernment so that they cannot, or will not, see the truth.  Of course, there are many more who will not see the truth because they are not saved.  Frank Logsdon saw the error of his ways and set aside his pride and repented to the glory of God.  Men and women must set aside their pride and lean not on their own understanding.  This is a spiritual issue and not an intellectual issue. The controversy over the Bible version issue illustrates perfectly in application that men and women are ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
    We can truly say in 2010 that this is an age when knowledge has increased phenomenally (Daniel 12:4).  It is truly an age when we are ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.  Men and women are without natural affection; lovers of themselves rather than lovers of God and lovers of others. They have an intellectual form of Godliness, but deny the power thereof.  Gnosticism is also characterized by its loveless nature.  “Gnosticism was distinguished by an unethical, loveless intellectualism. This seems to be the explanation of the false teaching against which this epistle is directed. The apostle describes the dry head-knowledge which left the heart and life untouched by love, and which led men, while they professed to love God, nevertheless to remain destitute of love to their fellow-men.”37  From the theme in the book of First John, we would have to assume that the Holy Spirit was building a rampart against the wicked heresy of Gnosticism.  We see also the warning flags go up in 1 Corinthians chapters 8 and 13, Colossians 2, and in 1 Timothy 6.  our modern day churches and the Bible translation committees are full of Gnostics.

I have spent an enormous amount of time and space documenting the doctrinal perversions in the new versions because a typical argument of those who defend the new versions is that they do not significantly affect any doctrines of the faith.  What has preceded this paragraph proves that hypothesis to be absolutely false.  Every major doctrine of the faith has been the subject of a vile attack from Satan. The doctrinal corruptions are frightening and much to numerous to be accidental or innocent. 

To the editors and translators of the new English perversions of the word of God and the Greek perversions of the New Testament we say, “ye have perverted the words of the living God”! (Jeremiah 23:36)
